States with the highest IQ's vote Democrat?

Well, they admit themselves they have no idea where the numbers come from and I don't believe those numbers for one second. I seriously doubt there is a 28 point difference in the average IQ between the population of Connecticut and the population if Mississippi.
Also, IQ is not a measure of how smart you are; it is a measure of your capacity for learning and your ability to reason. A person with a 185 IQ is not necessarily going to make a better voting choice than a person with a 105 IQ.

I don't know if the facts are accurate or not. I was just posting it for the purpose of discussion and to see people's reaction.I post on GFY so that when people ask me what I do,
I can tell them that I work with the mentally retarded.Comment

Hmmm..here's a similar page from Google...

The income-IQ correlation was inspired by the book "IQ and the Wealth of Nations," by Richard Lynn and Tatu Vanhanen. The income statistics are now perhaps a decade old, but were apparently the only numbers available to the original compiler when the results of the '00 election became available (and this chart was made).Comment

politics is bullshit. no matter what party you vote for, you can rest assured there will be an idiot running the country.Comment

WTF? How in the hell could they ever obtain a meaningful average state IQ? I bet 90+% of the entire population has never been given a real IQ test. Plus, IQs really don't really mean squat. They use to give kids standard IQ tests, but that stopped in the 70s. Official state IQ averages simply don't exist, except in the mind of biased authors.
This is just another variation of the "University Analogy." The vast majority are bright in certain areas and very liberal - yet they have no real world common sense. Most professors couldn't survive outside the university system - that's why they're there. It's called the Ivory Tower Syndrome.- *** -Comment

Simply enter http://americanassembler.com
and its easy to see it's a moveon.org wannabe.
Remember when McGovern got slaughtered and got one state, namely Massachusetts..... note that MASS. is at the top of the list.
The people from Massachsetts frequently prove their stupidity given that previous vote, and the the current crop of clowns they have voted into office. (Ted Kennedy and Lurch for example)
There is no correlation between IQ and common sense.Last edited by ronbotx; 05-08-2004, 02:06 PM.Comment

"Error Correction: The source of this data is not "Wealth of Nations" as it had been attributed to us. A reader writes in and tells us he has the book (Sorry to hear that Mike) and the state IQ's aren't in it."
"So we're still trying to track down the source for the IQ scores. As this is all a bit of good fun we aren't to concerned with the source. We know that Republicans are mentally impaired. If they weren't, that would just make them greedy."
"Just in case anyone missed it, this page is for amusement only."
I guess it slipped by your massive IQs.

I wouldn't take those numbers very seriously, but this point, it's not a well known fact? I mean it's basically an election of the educated vs the uneducated the way I see it.
People who vote Republican either
a) Have a direct hand in the party (executives at war profiteers, oil companies, banks)
b) Religious nutcases who vote on issues like abortion and gay marriage, and the fact that Bush says God a lot.
c) People kept ignorant who believe that the Republican party are actually the people they pretend to be, instead of a bunch of chickenhawk criminals who fuck up and steal from the country every time they're in power.
Karl Rove's job for the past 2 years has been making sure people in the swing states don't get real news.Comment

Just to show you how bad the democrats are.

As soon as I saw this I knew this was a hoax. I mean for crying out loud they even show that Gore won Florida there even though it's been shown several times over he hasn't.
These guys are sore losers and the fact that so many liberal blogs believed this IQ hoax shows who really has the low IQ.
Also for the record, I'm not voting for Bush nor am I a Bush supporter.
I am voting for Gary Nolan of the Libertarian Party in 2004.Comment

Isn't that the same thing? Smart is a synonym for intelligent. Intelligence can be defined as:Originally posted by SpaceAce

SpaceAce
\In*tel"li*gent\, a. [L. intelligens, intellegens, -entis, p. pr. of intelligere, intellegere, to perceive; inter between + legere to gather, collect, choose: cf. F. intelligent. See Legend.] 1. Endowed with the faculty of understanding or reason; as, man is an intelligent being.
That's exactly what you said IQ was a measure of.
Ouch.Comment

IQs are as meaningful as lie detector tests. Only gimpy talk shows use them to measure anything. If IQs were even close to a useful measure of a person's intelligence, then Universities would be using a person's IQ as "part" of the admissions process, but they don't!!

Both myself and my business partner own guns. It REALLY rubbed my business partner the wrong way since he happens to own an AK47.
Also Kerry is a tax and spend liberal who is anti business and pro labor. Fuck that. If you want to be an idiot and support him you're more than welcome to.
Don't worry though, there is no way Bush will win. So there is no need for me to go vote for him.
Besides we vote for president indirectly, as a NH resident I am much better off voting Libertarian.Comment

He's not a tax and spend conservative. He reduced taxes. He is no doubt a fiscal liberal though with all of the pork he let through.Originally posted by Colin
Bush is a tax and spend conservative
He is a spend and spend SOME MORE conservative....he has expanded government, hurt civil liberties, waged a pointless war, and is creating a huge deficit.
He gets an F from me when it comes to fiscal policy. However Kerry comes close and he's for raising taxes. I'd give Kerry a D+ for fiscal policy.Last edited by candidpublishinginc; 05-08-2004, 06:25 PM.Comment
