    The Alameda County coroner's office is investigating the case of an 18- year-old East Bay woman who died Wednesday, days after reportedly taking the abortion pill RU-486.

    The victim's father told The Chronicle that his 18-year-old daughter had gotten a prescription for RU-486 at a Planned Parenthood office in Hayward on Sept. 10 to end her seven-week pregnancy.

                                                      Yes, I agree, it is not right to end the life of a child that is not even born yet, through means of a pill, killing the child harmlessly. It would be a much better situation, had the child been born, the 18 year old unable to give the child a good life, or even provide for it, the child probably bounces from foster home, back home, to foster home, and back again, for the majority of it's adolescent years, or maybe if it is lucky, it will stay with it's mother, and perhaps even an abusive father. Or, maybe the mother used drugs, or had a disease that would cause the child to be born abnormally, and it will never have a normal life, might even be a vegitable for its whole life. But no, you cant take these things into consideration, you must assume that the girl simply doesnt want a child, yet if she did, she would be perfectly capable of raising a healthy normal kid!

                                                      If I had to grow up like that, I think I would choose maybe a few minutes of pain to end it all, versus a horrible life.

                                                                                  That's why there is a 10+ year waiting list for couples who DESPERATELY want to adopt a baby who can't have children of their own. I don't think most of those parents would give the baby they've been waiting 10 years for a horrible life.

                                                                                      There is still the possibility that the child will have birth defects due to drug abuse. I'm not saying that nobody wants a retarded child, but I have two adopted mentally retarded children, and I see what their life is like...
