    Dedication At Its Finest

At Arlington National Cemetary in Washington DC, the tomb of the unknown soldier is guarded 24 / 7 / 365 by two military honor guards.

When given the unprecedented order to abandon their posts with the Hurricane approaching the soldiers on duty refused to leave and continued on marching back and forth throughout the storm.

Very amazing to read about guards willing to protect that statue like that. Very commendable.

What's the history behind this unknown solider btw?

That's what I thought, but wasn't sure if it was for a specific war in US History or in general?

"The Tomb contains the remains of unknown American soldiers from World Wars I and II, the Korean Conflict and (until 1998) the Vietnam War. Each was presented with the Medal of Honor at the time of interment and the medals, as well as the flags which covered their caskets, are on display inside the Memorial Amphitheater, directly to the rear of the Tomb. "

Vietnam was removed. I bet that got ugly or they got their own thing.
