I remember a game that my brother-in-law gave me called Creature Shock. It was my first shooter way before Doom and I was hooked.
On another note I remember as a kid playing Rummoli with the guys in the neighborhood for pennies and it was a big deal winning the Ace/King or 7-8-9.
