you guys do realize there is no HIV/AIDS crisis in the USA don't you? there is in Africa but that's about the only place there is a crisis. HIV/AIDS still kills less people than thousands of other things. so to read her talking about her friends dropping like flies and this crisis and all that to me is just and to say it doesn't know race or gender is funny as well.

HIV/AIDS in the US and most civilized nations is still about 70 to 80 percent passed through unprotected homosexual anal sex, second would be via needles for drug users, third place is only a fraction at about 5 percent and that would be straight people unprotected.

there are not a ton of new cases every year, much less than 100's of other diseases and with very simple measure to protect yourself your chances of getting HIV/AIDS are like winning the lottery. so for those who get HIV/AIDS the majority of them are just simply irresponsile and that's the bottom line.

go cry about a disease that is really hurting and killing people and much harder to save yourself from like cancer and so on, instead of pitching this big bullshit sympathy shit about HIV/AIDS

Actually your facts are probably fairly accurate. But for those of us who lived through the 80's AIDS epidemic...it's just not something to blow off. AIDS is a hideous, horrible disease that destroys the infected person in ways cancer and heart disease don't even think about. It took so many of my friends.

As recently as four years ago, I watched one of the smartest people I've ever known become reduced to a blathering idiot as AIDS took his mind away. It was simply horrible. I can't describe it and I don't want to. AIDS is pure evil. It is not to be taken lightly.

I'm really amazed at how very UN-INFORMED many webmasters are about hiv and AIDS. Not just because they are in the "sex industry", but because I would think they would be well read on the subject since they potentially face it every day.

A person with hiv can be RE-INFECTED! In fact, the big worry in the U.S. now is that the mutated strains (yes, there are several) are starting to spread, and those that have hiv think they can have unprotected sex with another hiv person and don't worry about it SHOULD worry! You can catch the mutated virus, or what is called "re-infection". And you do NOT want to have the virulent virus! It is 10 times nastier than the most common strain in the U.S. that has it's history back to the late 70's, 80's when it developed. In fact, MOST people infected before 1990 has the "less virulent" virus..but alas so many people died before the advent of the cocktails. Now, the new strains are showing up on a regular basis in NEW infections.

Do not think that just because there are pills that have made the virus somwhat controllable, that you should let you guard down when having sex! It's very possible, probably PROBABLE that in the long run, current drug regimes will start failing too.

Bottom line: GET EDUCATED ABOUT HIV!!
