Hi All,
You may have seen some posts from me before, I'm a developer who specializes in DRM implementations. Examples include Napster, EZDrm, and MediaKey.
I recently reviewed the available DRM services out there and realized that most were either ridiculously expensive, very hard to use, or just plain sucked. (Some were all 3).
I've developed my own service at
www.vidlock.com which is custom built for websites looking to DRM protect content.
It's currently in Alpha 2 stage and I'm looking for any curious parties that may be interested in a DRM solution to please try it out. It's free to use so there is no risk or obligation to using it.
My plans for the Live release are 3 modes of service.
Free Service: up to 50 licenses issued per month
Basic Service: Up to 1000 licenses per month for $25
Premium Service: Up to 5000 licenses per month, and advanced licensing for things like Pay Per View videos, not the standard 1 subscription gains you access to all your vides. $49.99 per month
I'm looking for people to give me feedback, what's good, what's bad, and is it something you'd actually use.
Compared to the existing services out there I think the ease of which you can add DRM to your site make it very compelling.
FYI, the first argument I always hear is... "Well how do I know you'll stay in business, what happens then if you go out of business"
Well I have no plans to go out of business, but to secure yourselves the best way to handle this is to start out small and only DRM encode a few videos on your site. See how users react, and see that I don't go out of business. (FYI running a DRM service is not expensive, so I'd pretty much have to get hit by a Truck for the service to go offline)
Thanks in advance for anyone that checks it out.
