normally I would be inclined to agree with you, but knowing HungryMan (he still designs for me, and I am very happy with his work for the record), and also having met vidvicious in Toronto at webmastersummit, I can say they are BOTH decent guys, but I also know there is some bad blood between them that really has no place on a message board (except for here of course!LMAO).

I have been to his house in Mississauga at 2:30am bribing him with beer and pizza because I need banners for the next day, and my guy is passed out drunk somewhere, and He has done them for me as I watch. Do I consider him a friend. Yes. Do I also think he has backed himself into a corner with a few of his actions. Yes again.
I have been reading this board alot longer than I have been posting, and what I see here is a bunch of people who call themselves businessmen, yet lack alot of self control that is so very crucial for success in business. Bill Gates gets ripped off more times than HungryMan eats TV dinners (sorry Hungry), but do you see Bill all over the newspapers throwing shit to the fan? no.
I own a camgirl site in Toronto, and 2 years ago released my partner. He was skimming from the business, and it cost me easy 6 figures before it was over. You will not read about it on any board, and only a select few people in the industry knew it was even happening, and trust me it got plenty dirty.
Im sure ther is a moralistic story here somewhere, but I am too tired to look for it. Bottom line is: Hungry, pay vidvicious and wash your hands clean bro, and vidvicious, you need to chill. This kind of attention is not the kind of attention you need. Settel this off the boards, and hell you are self-employed are you not? Write it off if need be. How you handle yourself businesswise, weighs heavily on your character. I think both parties here need to realize that.

About Hungryman, I myself worked for him about 1,5 years ago and got paid without any problems. On the other hand a designer should think twice when I see all these threads about Hungry not paying others.

He might be a likeable guy to some people, but that doesn't make him a good guy. Hell, one of my best buddies is an absolute hahahaha, but i still like the guy.

One of the people he stole from is a friend of mine. He may as well have taken it right out of his pockets. He is no different than a petty criminal.
Hungryman outsourced some work to my friend. Said friend completed the work and did a damn fine job of it, too. Hungryman received payment from the client. Right then, he should have paid my mate. He didn't. Not only that, but the 50% that my friend was promised for the job, actually turned out to be less than 50% of what the job cost. So even if Hungryman had paid (which he hasn't, and this has been over a year, mind you), he still would have been stealing.
This is not some guy who has been plagued by bad luck, or has fallen on hard times. This is a thief. This is someone who has no ethics whatsoever. I'm sure he gives his buddies great service. In no way does this make up for the fact that he is a scamming scumbag. He didn't pay a bunch of other designers their cuts either. Wouldn't surprise me at all if what he promised them was less than 50% of the actual cost on those other jobs as well.26 + 6 = 1Comment

Luckily, Bhutocracy is now doing quite well for himself. The ~$1000 that Hungry owes him isn't money that he desperately needs right now. In fact, he's offered to give the money to charity when Hungryman finally decides to pay up. But at the time, he needed that money. I don't think he'll mind me saying that times were tough back then for him. Hungry didn't give a fuck. He stole the money, and lived it up like he's some big pimpin' player. I agree with Chodadog. Unfortunetely, friendship is one thing and business is another different thing for most of people. The guy can be friend of a lot of people and rip others off and sadly there's no garantee against that. And just cause you've been dealing with someone for a long time, there's no garantee that he's going to pay you forever. But the way i see it, never, never throw the sit on the fence, cause this kind of atitude is not going to make him pay. Unfortunetely, a similar thing happend to a person very close to me and very well known in the industry, scammed by another known (yet not very well) person in this industry. He worked his ass off and didnt get paied. Very few people know about it and never will - this is business and you have to act professionaly, not personaly.
If you want to cry out, them do it. But do it somewhere nobody can hear it
