But if you're from Netherlands, then you should know that some surfers don't have credit cards but would be more than happy to pay by SMS.
I started this thread after I made another SMS payment today.

Recently I paid with SMS for some legal information. And I have to say I saw some possibilities for instance pay per view or pay per hour. It's just too damn easy for a customer to send a SMS and have instant access. I think it works great for sites in the Dutch language. Don't know for US.
Exactly, there are some countries where ppl dont have cc's or if they have them, they use them rarely.
On the other hand, some of them send at least a few sms messages daily.
For them, SMS payments are easier, faster and more natural.
Using a credit card is something special, they are afraid, don't remember the details etc...
SMS billing will be getting more and more popular. We got all our cell phone companies in Canada linked for text messages around 1-2 years ago. SMS billing should be around soon, and will catch on in a few years. I think it will be very promising and very lucrative with daily rebills :>

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR.
Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.
Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.
we tried it for our dutch sites some 2 yrs ago, sms gateway, voice computer everything, still the revenue wasnt near a dailer or subscribtion site, maybe the timing wasnt right.
I do think it has a future but paying for streaming or static content FOR your mobile with sms is not something thats within the next couple of months. Mobile phones with cams and full color displays are expensive to be honest noone i know has one, cause they dont want a $100 a month subscribtion free to get that $1000 phone for a buck or two.
Maybe sms reversed billing works for micropayments now, ill stick to dailer, cheaper less complicated and more accepted
I don't know the polish market, but I think that dialers are almost dead in Poland, because of huge abuse in the past.
On the other hand, everyone is using sms for online payments, f.e getting access to newspaper archives, joining dating sites, getting new tones for mobiles etc.
I know that I wouldn't use a credit card for that by myself, but I am often paying by sms for such services.

Then get in touch with a company providing SMS billing for Poland, put up a bunch of paysites in Polish and hit the Polish market hard. You should be making bank off of this, instead of posting about it on GFY.

That would require much investment.
There's certainly already competition doing it.
I am also not sure about the local laws for a paysite dedicated exclusively to the polish market.
I also don;t have any experience in running paysites.
I generall, I prefer the international market, since it;s more stable and more honest ( at least I think so ) than the polish one.

Dude, you're setting up hinders by yourself... You don't need money, just a gameplan. Get in touch with someone who knows how to make good paysites. Then set up a good plan for advertising on domestic sites, thus getting the traffic necessary. Also, get in touch with a domestic SMS-billing processor and do a percentage deal with them, stay away from up-front costs. As for the local laws, I'm pretty sure they're not as up-tight as the US ones, so you'd probably be on the safe side hosting in the US anyway.

Recurring SMS billing does work in most European countries including the UK. A user can be re-billed under a MT type of SMS billing if the network operators in the country support MT billing.
The guys @ http://mPORN.net are successfully billing users in the UK via Premium Rate SMS and also using Credit Cards that enable users to purchase credits that a deducted each day.
