I mean I briefly tried it for a week, it's like the setup, submission, uploading blah blah, and maybe got 3 hits per week, not even, why would it be worth it, anyone making money doing this?

You obviously have to generate your own traffic (dmoz, link lists, SE). If you can do that effectively, it can be very profitable.Comment

Your average AVS systen has several thousand sites in it, so the odds of the AVS sending traffic to your one site is 1:however many thousand sites are in the system.
I can tell you that I have people in our system that are converting anywhere from 1:2 to 1:50, but they are the people that promote their sites. People that submit them and then do nothing are not likely to make very much.
Even if you are hoping a SE picks you up, that is going to take a while. One site, for one week is not going to do anything if you are not doing anything in a pro-active stance.
There is very good money in AVS, but you do have to work at it a little, no matter what system you use.Last edited by baddog; 09-17-2003, 01:30 AM.Comment

I agree with baddog, u gotta work at it and promote ur AVS site(s) like any other site. My main source of income has been from AVS sites for 3yrs, so yeah u can make a lot of $$$ if u are serious about it. I just started promoting big sponsors etc heavily this year, for some extra cash, but have always had the sponsor links on my AVS sites(just that now I'm making more from sponsors as well as what I've been making from my AVS sites).
AVS sites are not an easy way to make $$$, like anything else it's work and you can't rely on traffic from the AVS link list - it's link lists, search engines, opt-in email lists etc just like anything else. Just make sure if u are doing the AVS thing, that u know how to work ur traffic.

they are right. just about any AVS you will need to promote and get traffic to your site. the days are gone when all you have to do is build one, throw it on a server and start cashing the checksComment

XPass looks real nice. I'll have to add them to my list of AVSs to build sites for.
Incidentally, I am adding to my list of AVSs in general to build sites for. I am looking for AVSs that have both regular and premium site packages. I already have the following on my list: Adult Check, Cyberage, Cyber Sex Network, ProAdult, One Verify, and now XPass.
If anybody is willing to leave a list of other AVS programs that have premium as well as standard programs, I will signup under the first person to list that AVS. Just link in your webmaster code

Happy with em, they send me about 200-300 hits a day from the linklist although most of those hits are members, although you are almost guarenteed a sign-up when listed on the "New Sites" list ^^
