Do they go full speed at each other from opposite directions in rugby? I know they run around tackling each other, but is it designed to have head on collisions (ive seen a rugby game once on tv when i was a little kid, cant rememeber) with 2 people going in different directions? cuz if it is how the fuck do they manage to finish the game with everyone headed to the hospital for MRI's?

soccer fucking sucks some massive moose cock btw.. nothing more boring the watching people kick a ball back and fourth for 4 hours to end up at a 1-0 score everytime... other then golf.. thats a whole new world of bordom, i'd rather fuck a blender set on liquefy then watch golf.

Soccer as you call it goes on for 90 minutes, with a 15 minute brake in the middle. Sure as hell beats watching a game that actually takes 42 minutes, but you need to sit over it for 4 hours because everytime something happens, the coach has to take a time out to explain to the players what to do!
There's no flow in American football, you have like 50 players on each side, that get switched about every other minute.

American Football may be a stupid sport, but it's just as dangerous as Rugby. They may have pads, but they also have much bigger guys, often hitting much harder. Also, there is more money, so they have reason to really get into it sometimes.

I actually would think that would work the other way, the more money, the more risk you take if you get injured!

Don't try to argue with Americans about their sports. It doesn't matter what you are debating, as soon as you say that (insert American sport here) isn't as good as one of the many other sports played internationally across the world, they'll argue you into the ground no matter how silly they look doing so.



I'm an American living in England. Before moving here I enjoyed watching Baseball and American Football. After experiencing football(soccer), rugby, and cricket I can say honestly that I'd rather sit down to watch an international league football game than watch the Braves take it to the Orioles AGAIN. I'm not saying any of these sports are better than the others, but the international sports do at least seem to keep moving unlike the long pauses you get with American sports.


And yes, rugby players do run at each other and collide as well as tackle each other just as fiercely as American Football players - in fact these 'collisions' (scrums as they are called I think) often involve the whole team pushing against their opponents in struggles lasting up to 60 seconds each. You should see the THIGHS on these guys!

I guess the thing about this particular forum is that most of us 'Pommies' on GFY aren't heavily enough into sports to carry on a debate with any vigour. I'll go try to rouse a few football yobs from the local pub and get them down to the cybercafe. Then we can see the insults fly!!
