    building traffic...

im building some sites in some niches i have never tried before. so basically im starting fresh, no other sites to feed traffic from ect. its been a long time since i've done that and things have changed a lot especially with scripts.

now this is what im wondering.. you get on the link lists (tommy, greenguy, ect) they can send some traffic, good traffic for a few days but once that dies down, and you want to trade links with similar sites, what do you do? their script isn't going to send me anything if i don't send them anything. i could just buy traffic but i always hear about how crappy it is and it makes for low production which wouldn't be very good with trades that i want to establish long time trades with. any opinions on how to build traffic the right way?

        In that article you wrote

"If you are building a site or two a day pretty soon you?ll have a good sized list."

Does that mean that you need a dif URL and hosting account for each? i.e. www.bootyholesrfun.com and floggingthebishop.com each pointing back to each other in the link list?

I'm just confused on that one

forget link trades, forget about the word 'traffic' - that is if you are starting out.

Go back to basics...we are selling sexy sites so advertising is still the foundation of getting customers. Ask yourself where people go to find adult content on the Web...get your message in front of people and see traffic as individual people in front of the computer and how they might go about finding your site

so it seems that building a 'hub' of free sites is the thing to do eh? sounds like it takes a long time to build traffic. tho my free sites are a bit more detailed and bigger than the ones you can throw together in a day so it will probably take even longer. hmm.

not all bought traffic is crap, you just have to be selective in where you buy, but that's the best way IMO...

well without 'traffic' there will be no ppl viewing the site. i think i have that part of it down, somewhat. i'd like to see if im doing the right thing by getting some traffic going through it and see what kind of ratio i would get. best place to get the message out is probably search engines but you need backlinks to get a good placement, so you need link trades, traffic...

yeah probably will end up trying to buy traffic, then gradually ween it off the purchased traffic as i build good link trades. can i buy niche specific traffic?

No it's really not THE thing to do right now, but it is the SMART thing to do. Most people starting out just think that if they can make a bunch of tgp's with choker galleries and get them up to 100k they'll be millionaires. When I submit a gallery, it can get 10-20k of traffic but only maybe 1k click to the sponsor. Even those that visit the sponsor aren't looking to buy shit anyway. With a FPA/free site type deal that gives the surfer a good idea of what they can expect on the site, I get about a 75% CTR with toplist/link list/etc traffic.

yeah im definatly not going the way of tgps, mine are just quality free sites with no consoles or blinds or exits, free galleries with free content with no skimming. i give lots of information about the sites im advertising. i've done this and quite successfully in the past with celeb sites but conversions leave a lot to be desired in that niche lately, so im trying my hand at other niches, mainly fetish type niches. i don't want to have a CJ type site, i want to use mostly permanent links and such but i will be using a traffic script, most likely arrowtrader.

I guess what I'm saying is to focus more on the core of advertising than seeing traffic as just a "stream". I'm not sure how much potential surfers to your site are interested int he mechanics of placement, likewise the amount of traffic a new site can acquire by having several unknown link trades is probably small - basically, I'm saying, it's heaven on earth to have a nice large budget and buying your traffic from the places that make sense...

the hub works two ways for you:

1 - when you submit to the LL and toplists you get instant niche traffic to the site you submitted, plus if people are wanting more you send them into your hub and either get them to buy or trade the traffic.

2- after a while with all the SE optimized pages and links you have built you will start seeing SEs pick up your sites and start sending targetted traffic to the hub and there you either get them to buy or trade the traffic.

if you are working niches and filter them properly you won't need a ton of traffic to make it worth your time, plus once the SEs kick in you will have more targetted traffic to work with.

                          good luck.

no, by site i meant a sub-directory off your main domain.

                            for instance:

                            domain/niche/free_site_1/
                            domain/niche/free_site_2/
                            domain/niche/free_site_3/
