Many of my problems this week have been due to excessive stress. I did some scanning for Pete.. He paid me up front for the number of slides he told me he had. Problem being, when they showed up, there were a LOT more than he told me there were, and there were also negatives in the mix (which are more time consuming and therefore take longer and cost more). I phoned him to ask if I should do them anyways, and invoice him for the difference. He said fine. So I did my work.
Jact and I worked for weeks scanning, editing and doing some color correcting on the slides (they were pretty bad for color for the most part). The NEGATIVES were even worse.. gouged, scratched, terrible..they took a week alone. That's ok though, we didn't charge for the color correcting/editing.. just per unit (and at a hefty discount) I sent it all back with the invoice (the final price was $1059.90). Heard nothing. Tried calling. Nothing. Tried emailing. Nothing. Tried icqing, nothing. A month goes by. Finally jact said something on another board about the situation, and Pete comes all freaking out on icq, saying he did NOT agree to pay more and that nobody could prove he did because the deal was made on the phone. Well whatever, I did the work, I see it sitting on Firm Content (which I know is owned by Nick, and I've tried to contact him too, please Nick if you see this, get in touch!), and it just seems terrible to me that I worked SO hard, gave the guy a GOOD price AND did more work than I charged for and STILL got fucked. Of course this was all before everyone else came "out". I just want this resolved. It's been stressing me out all week and I just need to get it off my chest. I am ill and have a baby to worry about, and hopefully someone else can learn from what I'm dealing with. I did not want to bring this to the boards, but on advisement of a good friend, I feel it's finally neccessary. Please, let's get this resolved!
