    Two Years Since 9/11.

    it's surreal. i can remember it like it was yesterday, and it didn't directly effect anyone i know. it was bigger than pearl harbor. it was a horrible atrocity executed on the innocent people of a nation. a terrible act of terrorism. but today i look back in sadness and remember all those people that lost their lives.


    i just don't know how to put it all into words.
    Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.

          what sucks too is here in california everyone bought one of those carwindow flags. after about two months 99% either took them down or replaced the US flag with a raiders one.

              I feel immense sorrow when I remember what happened. The blow to our sense of security, the thousands of lives lost, the emptiness we felt as a nation for so long after.

              I feel immense shame for much of how our government has responded to the attack, though. You cannot protect liberty by taking it away, and using a horrible tragedy as an excuse to do things you wanted to do anyhow is an inexcusable act of cowardice.

              However, today is not the day to argue about what our government is doing to us, and to the world. Today is a day to remember that a lot of innocent people, and a lot of heroes, died two years ago today, and it changed the world for everyone.

                      Man, that 9/11 shit affected me. I felt very insecure that day and I could feel the pain of lost ones watching remembering ceremonies on tv.

                                      Yes, obviously - there is much pain and sorrow when innocent people die, when someone bring your nation war... but I'm wondering - does anyone American can imagine and feel what other innocent people feel when American troops march along their houses and as they kill innocent kids they proclaim 'We came to bring you peace'?

                                      And one more thing, not related with 09/11 ...
                                      Why when some Americans die - this have to be worldwide drama, but if this dead people are chinese,russians and etc... - this is only statistic?

                                                          I was caught up in the madness, living in the city at the time. Lost some old business associates. Have a friend who witnessed bodies hit the ground and explode like watermelons.

                                                          Personally, this is something I'd like to forget and not have brought up every year. Doesn't look like we're going to be able to do that.

                                                                      Without turning this into an argument... To answer your questions, to the best of my knowledge...

                                                                      1-) Our troops "marching along" their houses, came with warning. The attack on the US did not have any specific warning. How many months did we say we are coming to Iraq?

                                                                      2-) If ANY innocent person, child or adult is killed in combat or cross fire from there of, it's never meant to be malicious or intentional like the attacks we received. Their governments should protect their citizens the way the US protects us. It's not our responsibility, if and when innocent people are killed, when we are at war. Unlike other hostile governments, that do not care about their people, we take all measures possible to protect and provide for the innocent civilians. How many others countries give as much money and services to 3rd world, repressed countries?

                                                                      3-) This isn't an issue of Americans getting worldwide attention for our tragedies, this is about the first attack of it's kind and magnitude happening. Other countries have civil wars, bombings, suicide bombings, mass casualties, explosions etc etc on a daily if not hourly basis, the US does not.

                                                                      And for all you webmasters out there, that have shit to say about the US, then don't use our sponsors, servers, surfers or anything else, if America is such a horrid nation. I love how ignorance twists the US into being the bad guys.

The money was in Saddam, who consequently by Al-Queda's twisted logic should be their enemy(they disapprove of discrimination against Shiaa muslims, which the baath party systematically killed thousands of).

                                                                          Anyway yeah it sucked I could see that shit from my house. Alotta people I know were there and all of them got out. A town over though a bunch of peoples parents died and stuff.

America's been living under the myth that we are this invincible super power for a long time, but a few camel fuckers hijack planes with plastic knives and we're still talking about it 2 years later. Not only are we talking about it, but we keep making our military and middle east presence bigger. All we've got out of that is billions in debt and the realization that these people don't care if we kill them. It just makes them "martyrs". For every multi-million dollar attack we plan, all they need is one idiot with a sack of fertilizer and an igniter strapped to them to completely disable our country for days.

                                                                                  "in 10 years do we really want our children going to 9/11 day sales?"

                                                                                  memorial day, labor day, 4th of july even. they're all like an excuse for marshalls to have a sale. it kind of trivializes the point of the holiday doesn't it?

                                                                                                  Anyway lots of other people have lost loved ones and this may come surprisingly but everyone's date of death has an anniversary every year. That's what taking the day off is for if you need it. Giving EVERYONE the day off is just gonna let millions of undeserving people have the new "last beer-b-q of the summer" and go shopping.

                                                                                                          Maybe that's OK for now, but think about our kids. To them it's gonna be like Pearl Harbor to my generation. It just doesn't mean anything to us. They'll probably be able to joke about 9/11 like we joke about hitler.

This during the Clinton presidency and also 7 months before 9/11 ( during Bush) with the CIA flately answering that they could not meet with the services of Soudan.

                                                                                                                  Families of victims of this tragedy should see and know what their administration did or didn't do...

                                                                                                                                      I worked with some Canadians who thought the images of people jumping out of the Twin Towers were funny. They even went as far as getting on top of desks and jumping off to mimic the pictures. I got ridiculed about being patroitic and wanting to go back in the US military, all in all, I know it's the reason I bash Canada and Canadians.

                                                                                                                                      This 9/11 anniversary, I'm goning to let go of that hate.

                                                                                                                                                          The sons of Saddam were some of the most brutal killers in history. Uday was the most hated man in Iraq(and he would be the most hated man in the world if people weren't so focused on Saddam). For those who don't know, Uday is the one responsible for the ethnic cleansing of thousands of Shia muslims. Saddam himself even had him imprisoned and tortured to curb his behavior. He only got worse after that.

What about fucking nagasaki or other things like that where americans killed hundread thousands of ppl . Nothing comparable to 2000 ppl that die and yet everyday we hear about it for 2 years . Off course it was bad . But if the CIA didn't give a training to bin laden and 2 billion bucks he wouldn't be doing what he do .

That was the first year I didn't go to school and worked fulltime so I just opened the TV with my cofee and seen that shit . I was so freaked out that day.

Agreed, it needed to be dropped, but the locations were totally wrong. They should have targetted a military area or an unpopulated one just to show off their power. Instead they essentially got nothing but civilian casualties.
