Because a sa man I HAVE TO REMEMBER to put lift the lid when I piss, so out of common courtesy a woman should either remember to put the seat down, or learn to squat.
If I have to lift it, you should have to put it down.
Thats my take on it. Its a simple give and take.

Your right it is a give and take thing....... BUT the seat wouldnt need to be put down if it were ALREADY down!!
