There are definately people I do not talk to about this, and to be honest, why should I? I do not talk to them about their jobs.

But most people I know have no problem with me doing what I do.

I must say the wisest words in this thread were from KC:

Thats exactly what I think. You are young, you have basically nothing to lose. So go for it! Learn the trade and if you make good money, good for you, if you do not, you still have time to get another job! If you started this at 35 or 40, you have a lot more to lose, especially if you had your own family already.

My parents are totally cool with what I do, I remember telling my mom and she said "it's good to see you are living your dream as a smut peddler, but you can't tell your grandmother, she'll flip out". My old man thinks it's great, he encourages me to be an entrepreneur, and he enjoys porn as much as any of us.

i guess i had it easy, my dad was proud that i was able to make such an amount of money on my own, hell he even wanted me to help him get in on it too, tho hi severe lack of knowledge when it comes to computers foiled that. my mom didn't like it at all, she was very much against it but when i pulled in 50K my first year, she started seeing how there is so much more to it than just porn. i talk to them about it all the time, its cool that they aren't all uptight about it and see it as a real business.

you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..

If you are thinking about this then it means you don't make good money. You probably make few bills per month approx., and thinking if you do it 24/7 you will be millioner, well guess what you will not be there anytime soon. I make good money, drive nice car and I STILL go to damn college to have something as a backup because you never know. In the end if you think about it then it's probably not for you..

My parents are weired.. i think my mother dismises it and pretends its liget.. my old man is fine with it as long as i can put food on a table, a roof over my head, suport a family (if it gets to that ), and i dont do anythin illegal or harmfull.
My bigest consern is keeping pop-ups and dilers off my comp from all his own porn serfing untill my apartment is ready.

Couple reasons he is against it:

1. If anyone finds out, it may affect me somehow in the future
2. Sponsors may not pay me/go under and jew me
3. If a teen or girl I promote did not sign model release etc - they could sue me, and in turn sue him, as I live with him right now.

He says GO for it once I move out on my own, have a GOOD steady job. He says whatever.
But for now... while he still says get out of it NOW, he says do whatever you want on your own.

There are thousands of "honest" businesses that you can get into where you perform on a contract and don't get paid. I've lost way more money in conventional businesses than in porn. So, reason 2 is pretty specious.

If you are not shooting your own content, reason 3 is hardly a concern as well. You are far more likely to be sued doing, say, construction contracting, or again, hundreds of other conventional businesses.

The only thing to worry about is wether or not it might hurt you in the middle of the road straight life in the future. However, for a lot of straight jobs it simply won't matter. If you want to work with kids, education, or work in a publicly visible position, it could hurt you. We live in a society with a mean puritanical streak.

First if you live in your dads house , its still his rules and you can put him in jepardy. Running a porn website out of a house thats not zoned commercial is not legal. Now if its your own place then thats your business but its someone elses house. Also having a teen theme now adays makes you a possible target. Also if you dont make enough to have your own place you should think about another career for yourself.

because a family member started working for a porn sponsor about 2 years ago and now hes making more money than anybody in the family

its all about the money people, why do parents and grandparents tell you you HAVE to be a doctor/lawyer/accountant? because its what makes most money... for all they know

If you run adult website and you shoot content to be in a uncommercial situation you are asking to be a target. Especially when you have to put your address on the site for 2257. It gives them a excuse and when the house you are doing this in is not your own it makes it worse because someone else could possibly get screwed.
