Yep, I got canned.
Company merger was going through and while they were waiting for SEC approval they basically "ran" the company but not officially. They wined us dined us, flew us to Atlanta and to Orlando for little getaways to keep us happy.
A few days after the merger was completed they pulled all of us managers together and did a mass firing and brought their own people in.
Collected unemployment for six months and have never been back to work since.Comment

I got fired twice
one of em was in a restaurant where the boss (female) was a real bitch. when she fired me I had 48 cups in my hands. I let them drop on the ground and left. that was 2nd day of work so she had no paper of me and was planning to pay under table, so no I didn'T pay those shitty cups LOL.
the other was a computer techie thing. he said I wasn't knowing enough about hardware but that I was really good in software. In fact I repaired a computer and didn'T fill the papers when taking a new motherboard from the store and putting it into the pc. They never told me about that paper shit and I should have known. oh well.
I got only 1 other job and it was to finish school in computer science. haven'T been fired from that one.

Got fired from U Haul at 16. They caught me in the back on the forklift....forks raised up(I had a rope rigged to control the lift from a pallet on the forks) No shirt on Catching some rays and taking a nap. Granted I was on lunch....but fell asleep. So it was like a 3 hour nap. Funny thing 2 weeks later all the trucks burned to the ground.......the came to my high school to question me and everything. It was kinda funny.SCJason

I was fired from my first job when I was 14. I worked at a tourist trap shop and it had three stories with the actual store on the middle floor. My manager was about 20 and a complete idiot. I was a pretty small girl and he made me carry these heavy boxes of sweatshirts from the top floor to the basement and put them on hangers. THEN he had me carry the sweatshirts on hangers to the middle floor, take them off the hangers and fold them and put them in cube displays. I had an attitude and asked what the hell that middle step was for and he screamed at me says he paid me 5 bucks an hour to do whatever he wanted and to sign my time card and get out.
I had to call my mom to pick me up, lol, she was pissed!Comment

I may have not used the phrase "hold your horses." It may have been along the lines of "fuck you, bitch. I am looking to see where I am going first."
