I agree. If things continue on this path Bush's chances are probably slightly below 50% depending who's running against him, but a few things can happen between now and then to effect that.
What if a domestic terrorist attack equal to or greater than 9/11 happens a few months before the elections? I have a feeling people would be afraid to put someone new in there and would likely rally behind Bush.
Or an even more likely and scarier scenario. The Bush administration is quite aware of how Bush Sr's popularity dropped like a brick after the first Gulf war and it wouldnt surprise me one bit for them to start a war with N Korea or Iran in an attempt to boost ratings. Playing with North Korea could have disasterous affects. Bush doesnt want to play ball with anyone who stands a fighting chance.
