    Whirlpools scare the SHIT out of me!

    Watching a show about whirlpools on 'The Science Channel'....

    They threw a dummy into a whirlpool in the ocean. It was sucked down more than 600 ft.

    Imagine getting caught in that. What a horrifying death!

    A guy being interviewed lost a friend to a 1 foot diameter whirlpool.... they never found his body. Damn!

      I'm a scuba diver so I understand what depth can do to a person. I couldn't image a more horrifying or painful death than being sucked down 600 ft in a matter of seconds.

                  Pardon my ignorance, but wouldn't the massive pressure change involved in that pretty much shatter every corpusle (sp?) in your body before you basically had time to say "Oh Shit!" ?
