          why switch? i haven't really come across anything else i like very well that will do the things i've got outlook doing, plus fairly seemless importing of email to the new client from outlook. so far i haven't really been successful in doing that.

                      i tried eudora, but it didn't really import my outlook stuff the way i liked. i've got a 200+mb .pst

                          Make a rule that places emails with attachments in your "Deleted Items" folder.

                                  It is much easier to avoid attachments in outlook if you just turn it off and say no to outlook

                                      then click the box that says: Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus

                                                      Check out procmail, theres scripts where you can block .scr, pif and specify other attachments to block.
