depends on a few factors, but generally speaking it will. 2700 is generally backwards compatible.

I'd say it mainly depends on your Mobo...
But generally speaking 2 different types of ram will slow them down... to a very noticable speed.

So just go out and buy another stick of 2100. Or get 2 2700's.
Or if you can afford it 1 * 3200 1Gb :p

i've already order 512mb of pc2700, i'll try it and if it doesn't like it i'll just run on the new stick until i build a new pc in a few weeks and use it for that. thanks for the advice

pc2700 ram in a 266 baord will run at, you guessed it pc2100 (266mhz) well, actualy, still just pc133, but its double rate. Your bigest concern should be, can it handle those huge sticks of ram and not run down your voltage to the point of system lockups

the voltage issue could be my problem (300w psu), i added another harddrive yesterday, and maybe that's why i was getting errors, and when i removed the ram it freed up some voltage and errors stopped. i'll be interested to see if that's the case when it arrives.

reegarding the pc2100, it's only 256mb i'm afraid(and i live in the uk)
