Use a little script that only allows people see the first 2 vids they click, and then redirects them to a join page when they want to preview another one

I think that it depends on the site and your traffic. I have one reality site that does well with a good trailer for each episode. The best thing you can do it create another tour page(s) that only have a couple samples and test it for a day or 2. If it works you will have your answer, if not just switch it back to the old one.

Yes you give away way too much! The second clip down is 1:44. Way too long. Make them short and sweet and tease the surfer. Your BW must be a nice chunk of change each month

Here's a possible way to go about it:
(assuming you use video previews embedded in a php popup page)

Set up database table which contains fields for IP, "number" and the time+date, first time someone opens the page, his IP is recorded with 1 as the number, and shown the page, second time with the same IP the number is incremented to 2, and once the number is 2 when someone tries to open a page like that the popup redirects to a "join to see more" page. Set up an hourly crontab to delete IP entries older than 2 hours, done.

Should take 20 minutes

could... what about does.... she shot for NVG/CP before I met her..... then I nabbed her.... just use cookies, that way you can do it based on the user, not the ip. You can also expire it whenever you want. If you do it based on IP and there are a bunch of users using the same proxy it will suck. I'm just trying to help, i have been a mainstream internet developer for 6 years and figured i would give you a hand, 50 bucks for an hour of development is cheap, but if someone else that posted here can do it in 20 minutes I would take them up on it.

Just give away trailers on the first page of chicks, then on the second page, make them all join links.

IMO though, a 4 - 6 page tour doesn't work with TGP traffic anyway, the surfer has to go through a lot of pages from your index to the join page really.

I could be wrong though. But I like tours to be like 2 pages long and to the point. TGP surfers have A.D.D.

Apart from quite a few people blocking cookies (which means you either have to give those people access to all vids or access to no vids whatsoever, in which case the same happens as with multiple IPs but on a larger scale), there's also the problem of users being able to view all the vids with very little work.

Also, I didn't offer to do the work. Have way too little time already, and the money really doesn't make a difference to me

This'll do the job. Cookie expires when the browser session ends (user closes his browser), all this stuff needs to be in a php page before any html or blank space whatsoever. Just add the html after it. If the user doesn't take cookies or whatever, he can see all vids (just like now).

Your clips should be 30-45 seconds at the most, anything else is jerkable. 3 months ago we re-edited all our 1 minute videos to half the size & doubled our conversion. We just got some software to shrink the size of the video file to 1/2 or even a 1/4 of the size with no reduction in quality - hence - 1/4 the bandwidth bill. You have my number, call me for more info.
