    looks like we are going crazy here too!...


    Canadians are banned from smiling in their passport pics

    Nobody seems to come out of a photo booth looking at their glamorous best. Now Canadians applying for passports must now submit photos showing "neutral expressions". They cannot be smiling, frowning, glaring or grimacing. The aim of the new rule is to improve airport security by making it easier to recognise passport holders around the world.

    At least, they will be able to recycle the photos to the most wanted list.

    But I can't figure out how he can breathe or type , at the same time ....

              I was just reading about this in the newspaper today.

              Its an ICAO ruling (international civil aviation organization) some UN agency. Its so facial scanning technology works better.

              They say you can capture all facial characteristics better with a neutral face.

              Crazy stuff though.

                              There was also an editorial cartoon in the paper I read today, shows a lineup of people getting their passports smiling. Just before they get to the camera there is a poster showing todays gas prices, then no one is smiling anymore...
