scare them from joining.. I hope you have a thing where people can opt out of that.. I am sure guys with families and other people wouldnt apprecite Porn Dvds being mailed to their home each month.

So that means you need their mailing address as well, which should help cut back on the CC fraud if you use that information to cross-reference against their CC. Sounds like a good move to me, marketing and anti-fraud wise.

very true pipe, they should also be able to opt out before joining..
Kinda like those epoch crosschecked sales forms, hoepfully that will make em feel secure that they wont get dvd mails spams.

do they have to pay shipping and handling? I know a site that gives away free DVDs, members have to pay shipping and because of legalities you have to be careful what states u send to - result, a handful people out of thousands have actually claimed their free DVD.

but it's a good thing to sell on a tour, hell i see sites doing that now who i know have no intention of giving away a free DVD, or they send the member to VideoAge to claim a piece of shit DVD.

I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

good move there.

I have been mentioning the free dvd / video giveaway to webmasters for about 3-4 years now.

It's a good way to get more signups, keep retention up and also have a little better fraud protection, sig. on delivery, etc.

We have shipped dvd's for companies on and off for about 2+ yrs or so..

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

Make them sign for delivery then you have their signature
aswell which makes it a lot harder for them to ever do a chargeback.

I have thousands of my porn DVDs sitting in a warehouse already manufactured and paid for. So I too seriously considered giving away a DVD as a signup incentive to my new pay site. I actually tried it out for about a week. But then the first three signups were from non-US countries and it cost me about $20+ just to mail them, and I changed my mind about that quick! I still think it's a good idea theoretically but: 1- It's a time consuming pain in the ass for an individual webmaster 2- It has a legal risk (to ship a hardcore DVD in the US mail) and 3- It can be costly to ship.

We are offering the free DVD?s now on our http://illcash.com sites and the conversions are doing great with the offer...

F.Y.I.....The surfer doesn?t automatically get the DVD in the mail just by joining, they have to fill out another form inside the members area with all the membership info and a shipping address so its something the user has to ask for .
