    Your opinion on these to photos Please !

    Hello GFY Guys

    I am sorry this is not porn but could you give me your opinion on these two pics.


    Does the 2nd pic look like it was copied from the first pic and made into a print to you ?

    Does anyone have any resources on copyright pertaining to stealing someone's pic and making a water color out of it..
    I want to point my mom in the right direction to pursue this matter....


    A copy of the water painting was sold to Warner Brothers and can be seen on Gilmore Girls ..

              That looks like they barely bothered to run a Photoshop filter on it before getting a printout. Looks copied to me, although I don't know where those horses are or how easy it would be for someone to take a similar pic.

                  Thank you. That was what I told my mother.

                  THe lady who did the painting had the nerve to contact my mom on her new website that she is creating to see pics for an link exchange.. When my mom went to her site, her mouth dropped.

                  My mom asked where the lady got the copy to make the pic and the lady gave her a long email and said she might have found it on the internet. She also asked where the pic was taken.


                  I told her looks like photo shop copy and to start researching copyrights etc...

                      The lady lives in NJ and the carousel is in California.

                      The lightning in both pictures are the same so I don't think it could be another pic but my moms.

                                                                                  At first it looked like a cheap filter but then I spent some time comparing the two and it's not a straight up photoshop copy. It is most likely a hand reproduction of the original photo.

                                                                                  There is enough change between the two images that you have little chance in court if any at all, these kinds of copyright infringements are fruitless without a super good lawyer and the odds are against you that you will win anything.

                                                                                  As you said the $1500 was for a watercolor. Trying to get damages out of this will be like getting damages from someone that makes a painting of your house let's say.

                                                                                      this is not a photoshop filter or anything, it is though quite obvious that the 2nd was painted based on the 1st.
