I've got a Ruger P-90 45 cal semi auto. It's built like a boat anchor, but never, ever jams. I also have my carry permit for two states.

It's interesting that in EVERY state that has become right-to-carry (35 of them now), crime has dropped significantly the year after it passed. Out of the 846k permits issued in Forida less then one hundredth of one percent have had to be revoked for violations. It seems that the people who are actually law abiding enough and responsible enough to want and qualify for a permit don't tend to do stupid things with them. It also seems that criminals prefer that there is no chance that their intended victim is armed.

depends on the state and the type of gun. Kids can own .22 rifles at 16 in some states.....older for shotguns......older still for handguns (most states are 21 years old). Funny though....in the UK, ever since you guys banned guns....violent crimes and home invasion robberies have shot up. Hmmmm...

No one is saying anything like that because there is no one person who tries to maintain consistency on all levels between all laws. There is no logic to it because different people at different times propose different laws for different reasons.

There can be no all-encompassing ideology behind a system of laws that is the result of many people. That's the whole idea, right? Also included in the basic idea of a common law system is that laws should change and be interpreted according to present circumstances. Law should be flexible.
