Who will patent my ideas and enforce them for me?

I need to do some research on the patent business considering how many good ideas I get week to week, mostly for software applications... I feel sympathy for all the "open source" guys that are so generous, but I'm not a coder -- I'm a designer. I need a big ass drawing board, some lawyers and some writers to write these ideas up... Can't do all that myself -- that inhibits my creative flow and takes time from my research.

I'm wondering if anyone here has experience in this area already...

taking out a patent in one country isn't so bad actually.. but worldwide.. sheesh.

time to resurrect 'the fly is a genius' thread

you can write your own patent applications. it's not simple. you should read through several approved design patents in the field you're doing this in to understand what's involved.

it's expensive to hire someone to do it and promise to push it through and defend it.

10-15k ish for a good ip attorney.

the media lab at mit has a guy who's not a lawyer doing it.
he's just good at writing em.

Minimum amount you have to pay is in about 3-5k, doesnt include international search, which is another 600$.

TheFLY you remind me of Jack Black's character in Orange County - "I've got these ideas burning in my brain man!".
