Church Goers Kill 8 Year Old Autistic Boy During Prayer

'Terrance Cottrell went to a prayer service Friday with his mother, who prayed over him with a pastor and other church members. By the time the two-hour service was over, Terrance was dead.

The official cause of death is mechanical asphyxia due to external chest compression, meaning Terrance was suffocated. The death has been ruled a homicide.

The church is in a run-down strip mall in northern Milwaukee, with the sign for the former tenant -- a bar -- still posted above its door.'

'The adults formed a circle around the boy and placed their hands lightly over him as they prayed for him, David Hemphill said Sunday.

"[They] were just praying for him and asking God to deliver him from the spirit that he had," David Hemphill said. "The little boy had spirits in him, and we was asking God to deliver him."

David Hemphill said the prayers were in accordance with Matthew 12:43, which says, "When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it."

Reminds me of these Christian Scientists (they don't believe in doctors or medicine) that stood around praying over a little boy with asthma who was having a severe asthma attack and the child turned blue and started to suffocate but they all just continued to pray until one woman left the room and called 911 but by the time the paramedics got there he was dead. Then all the people from the church blamed HER for the boy's death, saying it was her disbelief that killed the boy because "their prayers could not work with a disbeliever among them". I never heard whether or not anyone was charged in his death or not, though.

Un-freakin'-believable.

I am not religious so keep this in mind while reading this

In certain countries (Like the US) there is religious freedom. A few years ago a Mom and Dad got off scott free for letting their child die because they didn't take her to a doctor. Their believe was that God will heal the child.

The court said that it is your right to believe!

I have no problem with religious believers and believe of the freedom of speech as long as it does not hurt somebody who has no choice (handicap, minor)

My daughter goes to school with a child whose parents do not believe in vaccination. In the USA its ok to send your child to school without any vaccination. Now this scares me.

And so it goes.
Everybody has freedom of speech except us Pornographers. We are the once hunted down for the good of the country.

Steffie, maybe in YOUR state it is. Try Ohio... no shots, NO school, no school? Parents go to jail. Period.

We have alot of those cults too. But children services step in more and more when the kids are being treated like that. Personally CS tends to go overboard too often but not in this sort of case. Sheesh, these kids need to have SOMEone stand up for them with some authority.

steffie, in california a child can't enroll in school without the parents providing paperwork showing that all vaccinations have been done and are up to date.

myself, i don't believe an adult's religious freedom should impose upon a child who is too young to make a religious decision.

You should look into this, whoever is selling you that bull shit doesn't know what they're talking about. Kids need vaccinations to enter kindergarten, high school, and college. My vacs were not up to date when I entered college and almost got kicked out...

indeed you need to check that out...my kids had to stay home for a week when we moved into a new school district until we could get them into the docotor to get updates to thier shots. i think it is a STATE thing though, not federal, so your state may be different

This must just be in your state cause here In tennessee if your child doesnt have an up-to-date shot record he/she doesnt start school.
