My parents ,GF and some close friends know what i do but i dont really like to tell people what i do. Not that im ashamed of it just i dont want any of the wrong people ( ie cops etc.) to know what i do for a living.

I recall a story being posted here not too long ago about some guys house being raided by some over zealous cops...i dont need any of that bullshit in my life

i dont feel comfortable at all.i used to tell family and friends that im a web designer,but as soon as they heard that ,most of them would ask "do you sell porn?"so now i tell them im a server administrator,and theres not too many questions after that,
i really want out of the porn bus,but the $$ is just too good.

I'm very comfortable with it. When asked, I tell..unless I'm being asked by one of my instructors in school who is notorious for docking grades if you do or say something he doesn't like. Fucking bastard with tenure.

I guess it depends on who's asking. I'm also a financial advisor. So depending on who's asking I'll respond with "financial advisor" or "I work in the adult industry".

I'm very comfortable with it. At least I run it legit and don't cheat on my taxes, finances, friends and family (unlike other people in more "acceptable" industries - one example would be corporate execs these days).

When I first started out back in 1997 I use to love to tell people what I do for a living. Most people got a good kick out of it, and a few would ask if I was in them or my gf. Now, I just tell people I own my own firm and work from home. People seem to think that im a perv or something, especially now that im living in the burbs. My neighbours all wonder why I dont go to work, ive heard that they think im a dealer. LOL.
My parents know, my wife does my accounting, and my friends all know.

as far as being open about it, i feel the situation out first before i start flapping my mouth. Sometimes you can benefit from having a big mouth (finding a model or location to shoot or whatever...) I usually tell people that i dont want knowing that i am a freelance photographer...weddings and shit

yes, i have become more jaded...shooting people having sex several days a week can take its toll on you after a while.

do i want to do this forever? NO
but the money and benefits are great for now
