    WTF ?!? ( tgp 2 )

Just found an article on tgp2.com:

    Show me the money!

Ask anyone one that has really tried doing Tgp2 how much better there conversions are with Tgp2.
9 out of 10 times they will tell you they are great, better click through's and sign ups.

    OK, that's obvious...
    but there's more:

Well, there is also proof to back this up. The project was run by Voltar at http://www.vnwr.com ,
a well known webmaster and traffic authority.
The test where ran in May of this year. His results are as follows:

As an average, for May, his numbers worked out like this:
for productivity, clicks to sponsors and signups -
    1,000 TGP2 surfers = 30,000 TGP surfers (from TGSW)

In actual numbers (he had some server & router issues, so his numbers are a little low for May):
    - 15,000 surfers to Tgp2 galleries
    - 449,000 surfers to tgp galleries via tgsw
    - sponsor signups were equal

In other words, TGP2 is 30 TIMES more productive than TGP.

If this is thruth ( and i assume it is ) - then you do the math
    ( well, it's already done above ).

You say that you own a 20k tgp that ain't making shit ?!
so why don't you move to the tgp2 area?

And why it this idea almost dead ( there are so few tgp2 sites ) ?
Yes, I know why, it's hard to change to tgp2, when you're an already established tgp, since you will probably lose most of your traffic to your competition...
But why isn't this idea popular among new webmasters who have less to lose and more to gain... ? ? ?

In knew that tgp2 maked better profit than tgp... But if it's really 30 times more profit, then WTF people aren't doing that?
I know, it requeires some courage to do it, but when you decided to quit your dayjob in consulting ( or McDonald's ) then it wasn't an easy decision too...

Now probabl;y someone will ask, why don't you start a tgp2 by yourself...
    Well, I don't own a tgp and don't intended to... but...now...who knows...
    I don't use ICQ anymore.

kinda makes sense because they're getting less and want more ... but what about other factors? those 15,000 TGP2 people may be going to only one or two well designed TGP2's, whereas most of the 449,000 for TGPs are going to crappy "I want money so I'm gonna buy a script and make a tgp in 5 minutes" tgps?

Read it again and you'll see that the stats claim 15,000 TGP2 surfers is equal to 449,000 TGP surfers. Low traffic volume is not a problem if the traffic is more productive than traffic from higher-volume sources.

I may only get 1,000 surfers from a PPC search engine but they produce as much as 100,000 TGP surfers. By your logic, there is something wrong with PPC search engines based on lower traffic volume.

People are too hung up on volume numbers. I tried TGP2 a long time ago and it didn't work out for me but I didn't really put much effort into it. If TGP2 traffic could still be counted on to be 30 times as productive as TGP traffic (I don't know how accurate that article is, anymore, because I know it's quite old) and someone could show me a way to consistently receive 15,000-20,000 TGP2 surfers/day, I'd try it again. I think a bigger problem for TGP2 than a lack of surfers is a lack of resources and consolidation. TGP2 traffic is spread too thin and there isn't enough support or information out there to interest people in TGP2.

As long as there are lots of normal tgps tgp2 has no chance in hell of working.

But it *is* working, punkworld - in spite of everyone saying it's dead and gone, it's still been here all this time and people have been getting good signups with it.

The *only* reason people consider it to be "dead" is because the traffic volume is so low. By that measure, then pic posts are dead also.
But both of them are still alive and well and pushing good signups.

Lee Noga repeats this every chance she gets and it's true: "It's not how much traffic you get, it's what you do with the traffic you've got".

TGP2 sells better than TGP. Colin and Voltar have both done a long-term study on it and they've both proven that it does. You don't *need* tons of traffic with TGP2, because what you get gives you the same amount of signups.

Is there a comprehensive list of sponsors that offer hosted galleries that match the current TGP2 rules ?

I mean, if I start a TGP2 - I can list only the galleries from the pool, but then I don't make any profit LOL.
I can make my own galleries but to make many of them requires lots of time ( well, probably not so much content, since there are only 5 pics on the gallery ).
I can sell gallery spots, but firt of all noone will buy them on a new site and second, I doubt that anyone is buying spots on TGP2's... ( ? )

So, lots of sponsor hosted galleries would be very helpfull IMO...

BTW, what's the currently biggest TGP2 site ?
                    I don't use ICQ anymore.

I would disagree totally with that although agree with the rest. TGP2 traffic will on balance not make you as much as normal TGP traffic per gallery submitted. However as has been pointed out much better ratios.

TGP2 is worth doing especially if you can automate it a little. And yes, people are very hung up on traffic volume. Counter clicks seem to give people boners whether or not it actually makes them money. TGP2 is a long way from being dead but niether is it growing and will not do so. Take it for what it is and use it as another tool.
                      Ignorance is never bliss.

                          I'm confused.
So you can either run a tgp2, or submit galleries to tgp2.
Why can't you make your own network of tgp2 sites with your own galleries? Complain about low traffic, get your own.. you can't depend 100% on trades on tgp's, can you?! Too much work? what?

lazy fucks. Why don't you try these things out if they seem good instead of asking and pondering? I know I will, again.. I tried in 2001, and failed. Now I'll try again.
                          ..and I'm off.

And why can't I ask? This is still an adult webmaster board...
I ask questions to get answers...If someone tells me a list of sponsor tgp2 hosted galleries, or reveals me the secret what's his average tgp2 gallery CTR, then he will not lose anything and I will have more information.
TGP2 is not a unique idea, the more new TGP 2's, the better for the "old" ones...

I can't tell you the exact number, but I know for sure that TGP2 galleries get a better CTR since the full size pics are on html pages, and linking to a sponsor.

just found these sweet galleries on the tgp2 pool:

                                http://www.tonys-tails.com/tgp2/tiny...l/index3.shtml
                                http://www.teensinwetpanties.com/sex...wetpanty2.html
All tgp's should list such galleries.

Now surfers know they can get galleries with 20 pics...
Most of the big and medium tgp owners should agree to introduce a max. of 16 pics in 2004, 12 pics in 2005 etc...
Surfers won't see a dramatic change in that way.

And these tgp owners stop trading with those who don't accept the new rules, so that no one big tgp can emerge that would offer more than 10 pics per gallery...

                                Oh well, nice dream...
                                I don't use ICQ anymore.

I would advise against this and strongly suggest that you create your own TGP2 galleries instead. Why? Several reasons.

#1 There are a few sponsors offering hosted TGP2 galleries. These are basically crippled versions of their regular TGP galleries. Thus, except for the better ad/pic ratio, they're not really much better. You're allowed, even encouraged, to have more ad spots, and more aggresive ones, on your gallery. Furthermore, you're allowed, even encouraged, to make use of big pics on HTML with a banner and/or a textlink on top, plus big pics linked to sponsor.

#2 Since the amount of traffic you'll get will not really burn a hole in your pocket, in the long run you'll benefit from hosting them yourself. The galleries will make for some nice spider food (do make use of good sales text), which will result in a more stable traffic flow over time. It won't crash your server, but you'll be getting it.

#3 A TGP2 gallery with big pics on HTML is, from a spider's pov, a mini site. A TGP gallery is a one page bannerfarm. Which one do you think will eventually rank higher/at all in the SERPS?

Hope this has helped you see things from a slightly different perspective.
                                  Whitehat is for chumps

If you don't do it, somebody else will - true story!
