Don't tell anyone a thing before you file a patent, make anyone you talk to sign a NDA, and YES, see an attorney before talking with anyone.

There are lurkers who surf the boards specifically looking for ideas put forth by newbies and those who don't know better that they can then take and run with.

One very large program has been built on a *lot* of these ideas, most of them from newbie boards.
