ColoExchange in Sanfran is DOWN...

    ColoExchange in Sanfran is DOWN...

    Everything is down...power is out at the ENTIRE building at the ColoExchange in SanFrancisco. The power dropped out to the building and all the emergency generator kicked on for a few minutes and then the generator stopped. There are like 100 people standing in the parking lot here and they won't let us back into the building until the power is restored. There is obviously not anything we can do...but we are here whenever power is restored.

          Rather rediculous. Eventually something important happens, and no one seems to be interested. People get dumber and dumber in here.

                      Yeah...it isn't pretty. I can't imagine what it's going to get everything back up without massive surge problems. All these servers stopped non-gracefully and many in the middle of full load processes. We are here as soon as PGE and the ColoExchange get this mess sorted out.

                      Meanwhile, if anyone wants to have coffee and doughnuts sent to the Colo...we will consider that in the order we bring servers back online. (just kidding of course...everyone is just as important as the next guy)

                              Lucky I don't have all my eggs in one basket. I and I'm sure everyone else appreciate your updates on this situations. Is this the only building without power in that area? BTW - Where is the nearest Starbucks? Do they take orders over the phone by credit card? Thanks again

                                          A LOT of hosts are located in the eXchange facility, this is one of the largest and best datacenters. 5 Floors of carriers and companies blew out and their telephone system is dead, they can not be reached!

                                          No one has ever seen anything like this before, the datacenter is going to lose millions!
