I was born to make 6 figures

But I just barely make 5.
How do you guys get motivated? What are your secrets? I know I have the brains to do things. I know I can accomplish things. I am just too fucking lazy to push myself.

I want bigger and better. I try my best... I want to succeed - but I don't. What am I doing wrong?

I see these guys driving their bimmers and mercedes around my small town, owning beach front property. I want to be able to have these luxuries. But I am back living at home so I can afford to eat.

I have skills - but where and HOW can I apply them? I am a bit of an idea man, which is why I started up my site. But it isn't taking off as fast as I had hoped. (From 0-1,200 uniques a day in 3 weeks is OK I guess... but I was expecting more)

Sigh. Sorry for the venting. It's 2:30am and I am off to work for some bullshit asshole company making minimum wage in a few hours. I just get frustrated that I know I have so much potential but I am not utilizing it.

i only think this is funny because my 19 year old cousin just sent me his 2 paragraph business plan and asked me casually for 100K yesterday.

he thinks his only problem is that he does not have 100,000.00 so he can launch his business and become a trillionaire by October.

The suburb where I live basically everyone drives merc's, BMW's or porsches and live in multi million dollar houses... most of them are actually not that well off, they're just mortgaged to their eyeballs and trying to give everyone else the impression they're loaded.

I agree. I am to blame for all of it. I guess I am just directionless. I see no light at the end of the tunnel, and can not make the light myself to run myself to.

Know what I mean? I don't see any brightness ahead so I just have a hard time concentrating.

Well said, you got in before me, this is really the only thing you are doing wrong. If you are an idea's man, have the brains, and want bigger and better then you have all the tools to get the beemer or merc. Just don't be lazy; it is as simple as that.

Either stick with what you are doing and run with it, or experiment and create something outside the square.

Motivation is something you can't buy -

It is something that does get you, tho - Once you find a target to go for, the motivation factor falls into place naturally.

So set yourself some targets - Make a plan on how you will achieve those targets and in a reasonable time - Then get to work.

Re-evaluate on a daily basis -

OK but in all bullswoit aside, there's three ways to go about this business. You can either be a trial and error guy, or a by-the-books guy, or both.

Trial and error is how I started out, when I was young it was basically all success and no error, but those were the spamming days Anyway innovation, even if it fails alot is an important part of business. If I had $10 for every idea I came up with and some part of it fell through, I'd be rich.

Also never lose track of your ideas. Write them down or something. You may find roadblocks get lifted in the future as you get more skilled or even just more well known.

And don't put all your eggs in one basket. Starting a TGP and trying to get it to take off is all well and good, but you're wasting time if you just sit and watch your stats. Make yourself work every day. You need to set goals and follow through with them. Smaller goals are alot bigger than big goals too. When I'm working on a project what happens alot of the time is I just focus on the big picture and it seems like ALOT of work and I'm kinda sluggish because the end goal doesn't seem so close. However, if I sit down and say "I'm going to code all the SQL shit I need to for this project", I finish really quick and then realize that what I've been putting off forever took about 15 minutes.

If you find yourself just killing time working on your main project, set another small goal and get it done. You don't need to change your CSS styles 54 times a day, focus on building traffic and maximizing use of your sponsors. That shouldn't take up much of your day. Build and submit some galleries, get preferred submitter accounts, do some PPC or SE placement, make free sites, anything. Even the big(ger) guys submit galleries and the like, almost noone makes a living off a tgp.

OK that's my stayed-up-all-night business theory rant. Maybe I'll go to sleep today. Starbucks is evil.

I honestly think it's very hard to do, to continually develop motivation to get ahead. I think it's about the mental condition, how much enthusiasm you have, I understand what your saying, but I am a lot the same. Good luck to people that can get up every morning and build traffic for 8-10 hours, I find it very hard to concentrate solo in an office all day long, and continually develop ne strategies etc. My advice is try and work around the mental side of things, focus on concentration, focusing your goals, visualisation, the stuff most people say is BS, try and try to get motivated and build on it.

At the source (IMO) of teenjump's problem is something that can only be empathized by a select group of people. My guess is that in his realm of experience, he has not once interacted or had the influence of a truly successful person. The lesson that everyone pretends is common sense that "you will get what you want by working hard for it" has'nt been proven true for him, or has been displayed for him, yet.

My guess is that Mom or Dad (or both) was a complete fuckup or nonexistent.

KRL is right, unique ideas are not enough, it's being in the position that fulfills the action required. Which is why it seems so hopeless.

I'm on the same page, teenjump, I have been since birth. I'm assuming that like me, you feel you're destined to rise above what you've experienced, feel like you're running out of time, and don't quite know which direction to go in.

you're also trying to figure out a way around the fear that sweels up whenever you face a particular direction because you don't have any verification of the validity of said direction.

I think that's called a fear of failure. Me personally? I'm still dealing with it.

i dont think that "great ideas" are necessarily the key to success. i mean it would not be appropriate to say "ok, when a great idea hits me, i will get my shit together and make millions"

drive, determination, hardwork, planning and consistency can do wonders. i made a lot of money in life, not because i had "good ideas" but because i was never satisfied with where i was and i always felt i should/could be doing more. feeling like that, kept a constant fire under my ass to do better, to go father, to achieve more.

if you really want to get your life under control, i think you first need to mature a little. you need to make a plan for yourself, set some goals and start busting your ass.

Great ideas are for faster wealth accumulation. Standard hardwork works also but takes longer.
