    Where would you place a sample video?

    I used to have a sample video at the very begining of my tour and I didn't feel it was doing much for sign ups. It was just sucking up bandwidth. I decided to use a smaller one and place it at the end of the tour on the sign up page. I've never seen anyone do this. Is there a reason why sample videos shouldn't be on the sign up page?

          Looks pretty good to me, maybe toss up some screenshots on earlier pages?
          SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

              if the sample vid is very good, loads very fast for the surfer and can solidify the buying decision then it MIGHT be OK for join page.

              but usually the sales presentation is over by the time the surfer reaches the join page, if the surfer has actually clicked himself onto the join page you are 70% home, you don't want to interfere with that karma.

              most times if you add additional things which take attention away from the signup process it will end up being counterproductive.

              the only way to know is to run a test, but i suspect in most cases it is the wrong thing to do.

              put the video sample(s) just before the join page.

              example,

              one very strong mpg on the index page.
              2-5 even stronger mpgs in the tour area.
              solidify the sale with text only on the join page (quick recap of features and benefits)

                  Sound like a good idea. But I think I'm going to place only that one video on the tour for now. I had the tour without videos before and it was doing ok. I'm only adding the video so people get an idea of the quality and know that it's WMV format.
