    Fuck Used Car Dealerships

First I told my fiance not to get a car without me there so she didnt get screwed. (She knows nothing of cars), Cracked head gasket, bad wiring, blown fuzes, bald tires and $4k later she returns with a '93 240sx (her dream car for whatever reason). She takes the car in to get everything fixed, and i tell her to get new tires while there. The dealer says come in on monday. 6pm this evening her tire blows out on the freeway sending her into the center devide at 70. Can you say lawsuit and back alley beating?

I guarantee your semi smith there will jam 80x more than my .357 mag revolver. Seriously.

Semis are for douche bag cops who never fire their guns anyway.

some major engine problems, things like that, you can often get back at the dealer for legally if it's not disclosed in the sale. also, here in nebraska, there is either a 48 or 72 (can't remember) hour period you can back out of basically any contract legally, including automotive purchases.

as far as suing them for selling her a car with bald tires, i doubt you can do much with that. you can try (i'm going from a legal standpoint), but i doubt you will get very far. they're kindof a hard damaged feature of the car to hide from the buyer, since they're all sorts of on the outside of the car and stuff. as we all know, ignorance usually doesn't help you in a legal battle.

try to work something out with the dealer, but another thing you may consider, if the car was purchased "as-is no warranty", then you might also just as well be fucked.

check your contract laws though in your state, you might be able to get out of it that way.

Our attorney will be contacting them in the morning, as far as the wear, (which wasnt readily visable to someone who doesnt know what to look for) was on the very inside of the left hand side tires due to a hit the suspension took. I aggree used cars suck, but if your informed you can get a good one, god knows why she wanted a 94 240sx, and even he probably doesnt know why she got THAT one hehehe. Thanks for your advice, however also she had taken it back and requested the tires be replaced first and they "didnt get to it in time" and told her to come back on monday. Nothing else was open, so I think that leaves them at least partly liable. Anyhow gotta love beverly hills auto attorneys, got me double the price of my 'lude when I flipped it after being run off the road by an oncoming vehicle in my lane. *crosses fingers* Im just pissed and ranting!

California Law does not require a dealership to provide you with any information regarding a used car, unless the car has a salvage title.

The law does require that if you got the car from a dealer that the car must be safe.

However, if the dealership sold the car "as is" with no warranties expressed or implied, you are on you own.

Once you buy a car be it new or used, there is no "cool down" period. The minute the front tires hit the public street, you are stuck with it.

                                                Thanks for the clarification...

30 Day warranty, no salvage title, this should be quick and painless. Also horridly not safe...well obviously.
