Exactly what I had in mind for sponsors. The possibilities are endless. This type thinking will make the tourney a blast!
I've run 2 of these, 1 in Miami 2 years ago, and one last year in Vegas. I will never do one again. Half the people that signed up didn't show up both times. Problem is that you have to have an early tee time because people need to get back to their booths at the show. People stay out partying until 5 or 6 am and then then don't want to play golf at 7 am. Hope it works out better for you than it did for me.

It might be a better idea to do an event at a different time -- maybe after internext or beforehand -- so people would have to plan flights around the golf and so they would have time...

I disagree,
This event should happen during the Internext. 3-4 days of Vegas is enough for most people.

I can get this. 72 people would be good 144 would be better.
What do you guys think?
The Date is set for the day BEFORE the Convention. And 11:30 is probably late enough to get there.
I would expect a few people not to show, That is pretty standard. But I am hoping to get people there that like to golf, and are professional enough not to take a shovel to the dance floor, head butt a moving cart in a drunken stupor. Or piss in the cup, and drink it.

People are more likely to make it :^)
The day before the show is better than during. You definately will get a better turnout since people won't have been out all night the night before. Well, most people.
Unfortunately, I won't be in until at least 5 PM at the earliest but I would have loved to play and as others have stated 3 or 4 days of Vegas is enough.

*looks other way. It's very hard to go from shooting pool with RB and mikefold to golfing in 3 hours
Day before is great, hell I might make it then

Sorry about that Miami one, ulfie -- we played on Friday and Sunday, and just didn't get home in time to play on Monday

No big deal, the one last year in Vegas was because we had to gaurentee any tee times we booked would be paid for. I registered half the number of people that were actually registered figuring we could get in anymore that showed up and I was right. Would have hated to be stuck with 10 no-shows at $65/apiece.
That's the whole reason I posted in this thread that it's hard to do one during the show. You did show up at the golf course in Miami though and ride around.

Yep I did, I think I had the prize money and it was fun, I was just two hours late, and there was no possible way to get there any faster, sucked for me, I really wanted to play the Blue Monster again, even tho it tends to make me want to cry ;)
We are having golf in Vancouver at the WebmasterSummit but we're doing it in the afternoon of the first day, and its not going to be just for the golfers, there will be something for everyone -
Golf is definitely best done early in a show, since the more days that go by the harder it is for people to get where they are supposed to be... we played once on the back end of the IA summer show in Vegas at Bali Hai and 6 days with no sleep coupled with 117 degree heat, it was a miracle that no one dropped dead... we had played the day before the show at Royal Links (which is much harder if you ask me) and the scores were actually better on the harder course ;)
That one in Miami was pretty bad as well. I think the humidity was about 98% that day. Maybe I just had a good day but I thought the Blue Monster wasn't that tough a course. I remember that I birdied the first hole and it was all three of my shots. I also remember hitting one of the par 5's in two and making a birdie. I'm not used to doing that on resort courses.

What should I have for buffet food?
A Caribbean theme with things like Jerk Chicken, Hot Links, Watermelon Jicama Salad, etc.
Or
Italian theme, with Grilled Chicken Marsala, a Pasta dish, a Caesar Salad, grilled vegetables, etc.
From what I can put together is is going to cost $75 a person That includes, 18 holes at Silverstone, open bar cart and open bar at dinner after. Also Transportation to and from the Hotel.
we should get naked ball shags.... that would me fucking awesome, no lost balls!
my dad when golfing in the orient once, and when his group went out these dudes with paddles went out with them and ran down the fairway ahead of the group, they had to beat the monkeys off the balls, little fuckers would steal the balls right off the course.
