girlfriend lost her job today.

it's a long complicated story, so I won't go into it... but in a nutshell, the axe weilder was a corporate policy technicality from an office 3000 miles away. Even the company owner couldn't prevent it, regardless of how much they all wanted her to stay.

sucks ass bigtime, but to top it off, she just had a guest fly in tonight, so now she has to try and wear a happy face and pretend nothing is wrong.

yeah.... she's pretty wiped out by the whole thing, but a few days or so, she should be okay. Won't be any unemployment checks coming though.... she was allowed to resign instead of taking the full force of the axe, which is the only good so far to come out of it.

yeah... we're way beyond the point of no return on it. We were that day we bought it. THe reason it was $46 instead of sticker @ $42 is cuz we were upside down on the trade. So it was $46 on paper to kill the difference. But the trade is long gone, and all that shit is carved in stone. I don't regret getting it, and I'm not panicking or anything.... just feeling the sting of hindsight.

Sorry to hear about that AMP, thats how I lost my Job at Electronic Arts some corperate exec just went down a list of people with a red marker and X'd out random ones..

I'm really sorry to hear that your GF is having such a tough time -- poor thing is probably still in total shock. If, as you said, she loves what she does then it's doubly hard. A couple of days of wallowing and she'll start to problem solve...
