Whats the best way to compress an mpg file?

I want to take 20 sec mpg's that are 5mbs. I want to compress them to about 1.5 - 2 mb each.

banners, HTML5 banners, Bluray/DVD covers, full page ads, half page ads, headers, logos, 100% responsive galleries, SEO optimization, social media mgmt.

You give me the job and paypal me some money to do it for you. I can get those down to 1meg and keep some of the quality...

But it's an ancient chinese secret.
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

XViD would be the way to get the best quality/size ratio, but most people probably don't have it.

Try a program called StreamAnywhere..it makes asf/wmv's and stuff

Theirs are encoded at 500kbit/sec for video, audio won't make much of a difference for such a small clip. (even somewhat high quality 128-192kbit is only a few kb added to filesize)
