think about this..
you already like this girl.. suppose you don't tell her and you both end up liking each other a lot. Suppose you like each other so much you start to make plans.. then you tell her and she is totally against it.. she already likes you so much she decides to stick with you even though she hates what you do.. you get married....
Now you're stuck with a wife where the newness has worn off and all you have left is someone you live with who hates what you do and hates you for doing it..
