Student teacher jailed for trying to procure child for sex

A trainee teacher has been jailed for a total of three years after he was caught trying to procure a nine-year-old girl for sex by an undercover police operation.

Luke Sadowski, 19, from Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, used internet chat rooms in a bid to find a child victim, Lisa Wilding, prosecuting, told Southwark Crown Court.

But the website he used was set up by US law enforcement agents to trap paedophiles. They alerted Scotland Yard's paedophile unit.

Officers taped and videoed Sadowski as he came to London to rendezvous with a fictitious nine-year-old at a hotel and he was arrested.

Police also found he had an imitation firearm in his waistband.

He was jailed for 18 months for inciting another to procure a child under 16 and 18 months for possessing the gun - to run consecutively.

He admitted the offences.
