Anyhow, congrats to the crew for the award. JBM is a great place to hang, and it seems the hitbots/postbots of postwhores isnt the epidemic it is here. Maybe who ever judged this award looked at quality as a large factor.
Hopefully GFY addresses this problem of postbots and 10k posts in 2 weeks in those mega long thread issues soon.. Clearly any thread that is 200 pages long in 1 week with smiley posts and nonsense posts throughout are postbots of whores inflating thier post count. Threads need not to be just locked but deleted..
Its an epidemic here for sure, something that was brought up to me many many times by people at internext. Someone needs to send out a memo that I dont work for GFY, but yeah I agree it is a quality issue that needs to be addressed.
Could be easily fixed by deleting those mega long threads.. Post counts of botters would be corrected instantly by a click of a button by any adminstrator.
Anyhow congrats to JBM. GFY will always be home for me, sad to see they didnt win. But its no secret of the quality issues that face the latest epidemic here at GFY. Clearly an easy fix.
GFY will win it next year.

Anyhow, it only takes a few minutes per week to delete those over inflated threads, and by deleteing them the postcounts of the members using postbots would be in line and checked.
The current behavior of turning the cheek towards this problem has created a quality issue here, and 10k posters in a matter of months from indviduals no one has ever heard of around here has become a problem.

I, like many others, know what is wrong with GFY. Here's a short list.
I'm constantly shocked that Lensman et al would allow known scammers to remain on the board. When several webmasters have been screwed by the same person, they need to be run out of the business instead of being allowed to change their name and return with a new name and a new scam. Other boards will ban your ass and make fun of your mother if you are a scammer. Not true with GFY.
Some of the infantile, WAY off-topic crap that goes on here.
Selling sigs and ESPECIALLY pay-per-post (see "Vitasoy") will be the death of GFY unless something changes.
Last but not least, news whores and anti-American trolls (see "directfiesta"). News posts are absolutely useless and people should get banned for repeatedly making them. Yes some controversial topics get a lot of views and replies but what good are they? Usually we just end up calling each other names. Is this allowed to continue because it generates so many banner impressions and sig views for advertisers? Threads like that just need to be locked immediately and I'll bet they stop.
Surfers. If someone is obviously not a webmaster, they should be REQUIRED to show a URL or two of sites they own. No URL, no posting. Period.
Wipe out postcount.
