On wednesday night, I was cruising down the strip on my new bike. I pulled up to a traffic light on the corner of Las Vegas blvd & Saharra, got in the left turn lane, and was sitting there waiting on the light to change. Then this fucking ASSHOLE in a big u-haul truck comes thru the intersection at 40mph, and hit me head on. He knocked me and my 700pound bike about 20 feet. My left leg is broke in several places right at the knee and requires a bone graft, steel plates and screws, to be done next wednesday because it is too swollen to operate on right now.
And while I'm laying in the road screaming in pain, the fucker does a u-turn, pulls up next to me and asked someone, is that guy ok? They said no, you hurt him real bad... and the fucker drove off!!! And the LVPD says they cant tell me if they caught him or not until next week sometime.
My brand new bike is totaled, my helmet is busted, leg is broke, and I'm sure the only reason my arm and back arent broke is because I was wearing a new Joe Rocket riding jacket with body armor built in.
My doc says after surgery, expect to be in a wheel chair for THREE MONTHS and then months of physical therapy afterwards. I cant even get up the stairs to my office, so I'm using my wife's computer in the living room.
I hired an attorney out of california that does nothing but motorcycle accidents with injuries. If that guy was caught, he is going to prison, because hit & run with injuries is a felony, and then we are going to see how deep U-Haul's pockets are for fucking up my life for at least the next 6 months or more.
Sorry for the long post but I'm in alot of pain, and pissed off beyond belief... and have absolutley nothing else to do now except sit at this computer
