I just got my car

Okay, some of you will laugh - but whatever.

I got my settlement from the insurance company, so I went and bought a 1989 Honda CRX si. It's beauty. Nice rims and tires, pristine engine, sunroof et al.

It's awesome. And I only paid $4,000 Canadian. I pocketed 2 grand out of the deal to boot.

Thought I would let you all know. I'm pretty jazzed about it!

4k for an 89? Lord I could have gotten you an '86 Mustang with blower and all pulling about 450HP for 3k US dollars.

Nah. I commute - so the honda was perfect. like 30 bucks every 2 weeks in gas.

I'm not into the flashy shit. I just like a decent car with no rust that will get me where I need to go, and doesn't look like junk.

My jeeps were all pimped out - but I got out of that phase after the second one was rolled.

Well... what I fail to see is how ALL of you US based fuckers don't have nice cars. While I was there I was near tears when I looked at the prices of both new and used cars. They're around 300% cheaper than in finland.
In finland a new 1.6 liter Ford focus costs around ?20k
...which is like 100k USD.

No rust on a CRX??? Did you double checked it, cause they all seem to be very rusty over here. Specially around the wheels bows (where the wheel is, don't know if you call it like this )

Sounds about right, I looked all over for a nice little Honda and the prices would blow you away up here. I had a friend going to auctions in Oshawa and Toronto and he said as soon as the east indian and asian buyers heard the word Honda they would get into a bidding war and drive the prices way up. I think it because they'll do 300k and ask for more.

Anyways I ended up buying a girlie Mustang.

Damn... thats just under 2k US. We go to Canada all the time and get the exchange rate. I don't know how you guys make a living there. Youre taxed out the ass and your dollar is low. Some great cities in Canada though. I have had some wicked times there.

I used to have a Civic in HS. Not much of a chic magnet, but it was a good car.

Yeah, we are taxed pretty hard. High income tax, high pst and gst. But whatever... nothing we can do about it. Dollar is low -but we can still buy CDN goods.

Problem up here is no jobs. So when there are, there is so much demand that thousands of people apply for this one job. Which means the employer can pay $8CDN an hour for the work, and slave drive them.

It's... insane. I can't wait to quit this gay job and work on here full time.

I will post pics... soon - I need to borrow a digital camera.

And NO rust. It had a diamond coat on it. I looked, and checked for bondo with a magnet and such. It really is amazing what I got for the price.
