personally i have never tried cjo mostly because i already have TTT on so many sites, im used to using it, and dont want to cross chokers path ....

but i would be interested in seeing bench results.

maybe by a third party programmer analyzing trade algo?

How do you propose this to go down? Icefire has posted stats from both in the past if I'm not mistaken.

An impartial 3rd Party would be the ideal judge. You think Choker would be down for that?

In exchange of using CjOverkill I get 1% of your traffic and show some webmaster resources ads in the admin area of CjOverkill. You can control how much traffic have you sent to me because it shows it in your stats panel. The script is setup to drive 1% traffic (selected on a random) to me.

Maybe Icefire will come and join in the fun as well. CJO is his code, and he'd probably be the best to explain what he did and what's going on.

Well, as you are requesting a tech question, I will reply to this thread. Also as I am the creator of CjOverkill, after reading this thread you will see there is a reason to trust me about the benchmarks stuff.

Both CjOverkill and TTT can deal with more than 1 million requests per day on a dedicated box with an aptomyzed apache and MySQL, so if you do not plan to install them on thehun, you do not need to worry about that.
If you want pure speed stats:
The fastest is Traffic Drive, then CjUltra, then TTT and finally CjOverkill (very near to TTT, but still slower). When I mean slower, I mean that on full load TTT could deal with more than 2 million visits and CjOverkill could deal with something similar but little less (about 3 to 5% less). If you have 2 million visitors per day I guess you will have to use some other solution

There are several reasons for that. The main reason is that CjOverkill has more feaures, so it needs to do more stuff (less features, faster, so traffic drive is the fastest, guess why.)

About the code similarity, CjOverkill version 1.x had very similar code to the TTT code. It was still different, but lots of parts were very similar, this is the reason lots of people told it was just a copy. With version 2.x the code is not even so similar and the tracking method is completely different. CjOverkill uses only database logs to track surfers, and TTT uses cookies. Both methods have pros and cons and someone could say one is better than the other, but in real they are just different ways to do basically the same.

Both scripts use very similar database layout, except that CjOverkill needs 5 MB of database space to install and TTT needs 30 KB or so. This difference is mainly because of the geotargeted filter and the other filtering stuff CjOverkill has.

About bugs and so on, Traffic drive, CjUltra, CjOverkill and TTT use to corrupt the database when the server is running a misconfigured apache or mysql and it's under very high load. This problem is not relevant to these scripts but to any other stuff that uses mysql. When the mysql daemon runs out of RAM or disk space it corrupts databases, so you must run the repair tables command and then fix your mysql and apache configuration.

I have never hidden CjOverkill is a TTT rewrite. According to Choker it's a copyright violation stuff. According to my lawyers, it's ok. I am not familiar with USA copyright laws on whitch is subject TTT. According to bulgarian and spanish laws CjOverkill is ok (CjO is subject to bulgarian and spanish laws).

As a free person you are, you can use any script you want. If you do not want to cross Choker's line, then use TTT. If you don't care about that or you need the features and security CjOverkill has, then use CjOverkill.
You can also test both scripts and decide whitch one fits your needs better. I know several people that have switched from TTT to CjO because of the features or because they needed to modify it for their needs, and others switched from CjO to TTT because they did not need that much features or did not understand all of them at all.

As there is a russian hacked version of TTT, there is also a russian hacked version of CjOverkill. Both are not maintained by anyone of us, so both have the old bugs the respective scripts had.
Also there is a hacked russian version that merges CjOverkill and TTT in one by making a mix of both scripts. It was funny to have one guy blaming me on ICQ because it was crashing on his box (I guess someone did a bad mix there). Do not ask me where to find the russian hacked versions, I will not tell you that. And in case you find them, then you must face all the bugs they have because none of these stuff is maintained in any way.
