I can't remember the company or the website, but there was a guy here maybe a year or so ago touting some glasses you wore while playing DVD's in your DVD-ROM drive and you could see them in 3D....I guess the comoany isn't around anymore? They even had an affiliate program I think....Comment

There were these guys who ran a booth at Internext in January. They made 3D porn movies, that you could watch with these glasses on. So yes, it is already out there.

making 3d pics is easy.
1. copy the original layer twice and delete the original one
2. colorize the first layer to red and the second to green
3. move the first layer a bit to the left and the other one to the right

2wildcard:
there would be no 3d. you'll see these pics in 3d because each eye sees different images, as in real life. each eye view its piece of object from a little different angle. by simply moving the picture you would not change the angle of view. the picture would be flat. that's why there's no way to make 3d from 1 photo.
BTW, if somebody's interested, i can make 3d pics like posted and, if there's a need, also 3d movies.
the technique is quite similar for red-blue images and for vr-glasses. please contact me for details and sorry for my english (-;Comment

That type of 3D won't look very good. It will make everything look pushed back, but not in relationship with everything else. You need an actual l/r perspective about 6 degrees apartOriginally posted by Wildcard

I watch b movies in 3d all the time, watched two 3d movies last night as amatter of fact.
If low budget film directors can do it, no doubt porn directors can.
3d is how old? Surely computers are highly capable of the age old trick of red and blue 3d.

I get my titles very cheap and have been collecting for awhile. The places here in Hollywood cannot be beat for low budget horror flicks.

i dont see it possible unless the movie was shot with 2 cameras from 2 different angles. you can't possibly convert a regular movie into 3D. how can the software generate the two different perspectives if it cant know what is close and what is distant?Last edited by Lane; 08-05-2003, 10:22 AM.

We have various pieces of patented software. The first and original is our gaming software which acts as a DirectX/OpenGL wrapper and splits an output into 2 distinct camera angles (obviously there is a lot more to it than that, but you get the idea). This is the most true form of 3D and looks fantastic.
Our second piece of software is our DVD conversion software which uses advanced patented algorithms to extract depth cues from a sequence based on motion parallax and relative positioning of objects on a plane. This is the most advanced 2D-3D conversion technique available and does a very good job. It actually creates 2 distinct viewpoints rather than simple splitting an image into l/r which is not even close to real 3D. It's not perfect like gaming, but it's damn good. Some objects will come significantly out of the monitor and the rest looks like live action through a window. Our photo software works very similarly although using various other confidential algorithmic analysis.
