Any affiliates having bad luck with ccbill this week?

Looks like I'm heading for my 3rd day in the past 7 that have had zero signups. This is -very- unusual, I haven't seen a zero signup day for months, and certainly not 3 in a week...

I tried to say this a few days ago and everyone accused the website of shaving. I assumed CCBill was scrubbing harder than normal to keep chargebacks in check.

I have had several terrible days. Not mediocre, not slightly lower, terrible.

ccbill has had that problem before. let them know about it. they just upgraded their entire system a couple months ago and sometimes the system has problems updating the live results db. i'd also let the webmasters know it. our affiliates usually let us know when this sort of thing happens and we get better results talking to ccbill than they would.

another helpful thing to do is use a link tracker so you know how many clicks you're actually getting and compare it with the numbers you're getting on the ccbill affiliate site.

That's the thing, my click levels look normal, and the ratio has gone downhill to reflect that.

Are you from hegre-archives? That's one of my better sponsors, even though it's harder to convert from TGP traffic...

            Last week - 1:1032
            This week - 1:4191

(yeah, I know the signup:sponsorclicks ratio looks bad even for last week, but the overall earnings from hegre per GALLERY click make it worth it)

I tried to signup for 2 ccbill sites last Friday. All 6 creditcards I have were declined. Even my mothers card was declined. No wonder you make zero profit.

Why would I as an affiliate need to contact a processor handling thousands of transactions a day. If sales are in fact lower overall you better believe they already know about it. Same with individual sites. If a particular site is not converting normal the program owner would see a significant drop.

yep. Most of our affiliates do really well. Our sales have been down too. CCBill says this happens every summer because people are out of the house. We've had a pretty good weekend so far though. So it was just a slow week.

I recommended notifying them if you didn't have any numbers showing. It isn't a requirement, but if there's a bug in their system, the sooner they know about it, the better for everyone. That's just responsible webmastering.

Their techs get on bugs really quickly.

                      Good luck!! - ryan

Yeah, you live in a restricted country. To reduce chargebacks, CCBill has banned all high risk countries. Its not our policy. I would ask them about it.

                          Here's the reply from ccbill:

                          Greetings,

We are not currently aware of any system hangups or the like which would cause abnormal traffic slowdowns. No changes have been made recently that would effect signup scrubbing either. If you still feel that something isn't right, please don't hesitate to contact us at your earliest convenience.

                          Hmm...

Now, with regards to the summer slowdown... if less people are on the net, then the ratio should remain relatively constant as less clicks get sent through to the sponsor. I am seeing the same level of clicks, but a quarter of the signups (via hegre-archives, anyway). It wasn't a slow decline either, it was a sudden halt.

hegreryan: how does your overall signup ratio look this week compared to last week? Is it usually consistent from week to week or does it go all over the place due to the (presumably large) number of affiliates who vary their methods of sending you traffic?

If your ratios are reasonably consistent then I'm very interested to hear how the last 7 days compare. With my own modest level of traffic you can see that my signups are only a quarter of the norm this week.

our ezine traffic has been down by half, which is usually our traffic indicator. The hegre webmaster said that he had two very strong weeks and then last week sales dropped off a cliff. this weekend they have recovered a bit.

i've seen the same trend with the galitsin and vulis sites. actually, i've even had a conversation with the guys from The Onion and they say their traffic is low too. CCBill says they've seen an average 20% drop in sales across all of their sites for July.

Our sites broke even for July compared to June (2.5% growth across the network) because there was a strong beginning of the month. I think in August we'll see a slow beginning and a strong last two weeks as people get back into their routines and start getting their kids ready for school.

By September we should be growing rapidly as we have been.

By the way, TGP traffic is always a low converter because that traffic is populated by people looking for free photos. Our TGPs usually convert at 1:600.

it would take me a couple of hours to do all of those calculations. I don't plan on that. Sorry man.

the smoking gun is that nearly everyone is having slow sales. they call it the summer slump. i even opened a thread about it and many people confirmed it - all but the tgp guys. this is pretty obvious. if sales are slow, people pump out tgps to increase sales. the result? more free pictures for people to see. big traffic, low sales.

we've never had a negative growth month on any of our sites so we don't plan on doing a whole lot of analysis. we're a little too busy updating three sites daily and building our ezine. not to mention all of our promotion work and our new projects.

i wouldn't let a couple slow weeks worry you. just keep at it...

ATK Cash issued 4 refunds on my account on friday. Kind of odd, never had a chargeback or refund in the past year.

Noticing strange conversion patterns over the past 2 weeks with other ccbill sponsors jumping beetween 1:180 to 1:1400 with the same type and volume of traffic.

I switched to Verotel from CCbill because I have not got a US presence. The moment I switched and ever since my conversion ratio improved incredibly, without any chargeback issues. CCbill has by far the most stringent scrub rate and it will only get worse as they seem to continually tighten it.

Personally, I'd rather have harder scrubbing than more charge-backs. But that's just me.

Guys, there are a thousand and one things that affect credit card processing that **we** never think of.

A while back we noticed a small decline in transactions. We traced it back to the credit card processing companies, and it was discovered it was a problem with a bank some place - and affected all credit card processing companies.

Any sites that are using cc processors that don't scrub hard will have problems later. Visa has lowered the chargeback ratio to 1%, and it's going to go even lower in the next year (so be prepared). The sites using these cc processors that are playing wild wild west will be gone in the future.

After a really bad week with two 0 sale days and one $2 trial sale day...

Today my ccbill sales (as an affiliate) are roughly double the norm, converting at 1:350. These are clicks off saturated teen hosted gallery content. I've never seen a ratio that good. Either there are previously uncredited sales 'catching up' at ccbill, or I'm just lucky today.

I thought I 'm the only having problems.
