"..his days will be 120.." would seem to indicate a normative lifespan, not an extreme maximum.

Jean Calment died at 122 btw.

You have to understand what was going on there...

I'm not a "Trekkie" by any means... but most people have seen a few episodes of some sort of Star Trek in their lives so I'll use this analogy....

In my opinion, based on the information up to (and beyond) that point... here is what I think was happening:




The earth was starting to flourish with life.... "God" sent down an "away team" to help guide the sons and daughers of man. Then "God" took off for awhile to tend to whatever other universal business there is to do out there...

the problem is, as pointed out in Genesis chapter 1.. the little hand on "Gods" watch moves quite a bit faster than the one on ours.

So "God" left the away team here to help us out, or gather data or whatever they were doing... but he left them here for soooo long they got into some trouble. They wound up hooking up with the daughters of man and having these hybrid offspring.

"God" eventually returns, sees the mess (hybrid offspring everywhere) and is like "UGH!... well these offspring aren't going to live as long as we do.. they going to live like man - 120 years."

Meaning "God" not only had the ability to look at the genetic code of man & these offspring - but had the ability to modify it as well.



It's a very interesting chapter. Very SCI-FI

some have lived longer then that though ...

'Pillar of fire' coming off a cloud?...




Considering these books are like thousands of years old, it's all sort of spooky no?

Back then the vocabulary probably didn't have words for "UFO", "spaceship", or words for unatural light... instead they might have used words that made sense to them in their day and age.... words like

cloud, circle, chariot (if they saw "God" get in them and move around)...

or words like fire or burning when they are clearly talking about instances of unatural light.

"pillar of fire" could also be ...
a methane gas explosion,
a bolt of lightning,
a piroclastic (?) cloud ...
basically many natural things, explained in the language and customs of the day.

Point a couple people out who have lived a fully documented age older than 120 years.

And even if one or two people have, out of the billions of people who have lived up to, or under that age --

Those one or two, if you can even find them (out of billions) are clearly the exception and not the rule. They are like the extremely rare (but delicious just the same) 3 headed peanut M&M.

You'll find far more people who have lived EXACTLY to a fully documentred 120 years than you will find people who have lived beyond that.

That alone is pretty good evidence that there is something up with that number of years.

She once met Vincent Van Gogh in her father's shop. Her genes may have contributed to her longevity as her father lived to the age of 94 and her mother to the age of 86. She married a distant cousin at the age of 21.

I've heard that inbreeding is known to greatly increase your chances of finding a 3 headed peanut M&M.

Don't eat different shit, don't smoke, don't watch the tv, don't do anything that people do now, and you'll live for 120 years.
