car wreak...

Ok, a question.

My sister wreaked her car today. Shes rolled 3x and hit some trees and shit and her car is toast. Somehow, shes bruised, but fine, thank god. Anyway, none of her airbags deployed.

Can she sue the maker?

airbags arent set to deploy on rollover, just from front, side, and some rear impacts. They dont put sensors on the roof.

nope...

what year is the car.... newer cars have some technolgy which decided if its better off not to deply.. it couldnt have been that bad seeing she only got brused up a bit... she couldnt have done too much damage. Also, she could have had them off, alot of cars have the option to turn them off or not, and if she ever unpluged her batt. it could have reset the chip to read them off... all comes to all... she cant be greedy and better just be happy she is ok

A good lawyer can find injuries. Beyond that, don't you have to actually hit something to trigger them? I don't think just flipping a car would do it.

I think the car is an 04. She'll be fine, she just has a big knot on her head. She did hit a tree, so it seems to me like they should have gone off. I think she said she hit her head on the stearing wheel. Anyway, just wondering, thanks

whether it was her fault or not, she is gonna have a hard time getting money out of the them.

lawyers aren't cheap and she'll need a very convincing case and some heavy hitting representation.

Yeah, not the best idea. Prolly cuase she was with my and my friend when he hit a deer... and it didnt die, and it was twitching.. had to slit its throat to put it out of its misery. Bad memory. We used to have a pet one.

unless there is a specific fault that can be linked to this particular accident by a reputable expert in the field, i doubt it'd be worth trying. be happy if you can get it replaced on insurance and that no one has been more seriously injured.

I'm glad she's ok! I hope she went to the hospital to get herself checked & has it noted that she was in a car accident and all that because her head injury may show up later on - excruciating migraines and neck problems.

Air bags are set to go off in certain impact collisions. Have you ever witnessed an air bag going off and the force they throw? I know I don't want mine going off unless I am heading straight into something, otherwise it will do more harm than good.

She's lucky the airbags didn't go off. Sounds like she didn't actually need them... The last thing she needs is more bruises from getting smoked by them when they initially deploy, and burns from the explosions.

I've removed the airbag in every car I've owned... I feel better without a hand grenade in my steering wheel, seatbelts work just fine.

First off I'm glad your sister walked away with only minor injuries.

Now as for suing, did she not walk away with her life after rolling 3 times into trees and you want to sue someone? WTF man, you sisters alive and more than likely it was because of other safety features other than airbags.

My suggestion is be grateful you sister lived to see another day after an awful car accident and don't clog up the court system with frivolous law suits.
