People complain about the USA, but I have never experience so much petty crime as I did in Europe. It is so bad my parents hired a permanent night watchman for their house in Cannes. During my last trip to France some pricks broke into my rental car at the cementary while I was inside burying my grandmother.

I sleep comfortablely here in California with a 9mm, a .45, and an AKM.

This had to come up - it wasn't me

Okay after a very very fucken long nights sleep I feel a lil better...What a fucken day...First off my left eye is swollen shut...

Okay so I'm driving down the highway headed to my aunts house for a family thing...I go to move over to the fast lane and I had plenty of room to move over and some asshole speeds up and tries to cut me off. I still move over and we kinda go back and forth going thru traffic. I didn't think anything of it...Assholes are everywhere doing that. So I stop at the stop light and he pulls behind me....I don't think anything of it because I figured he pulled behind me because he knew I would be going faster then the other lane. And I was sitting there watching the light adjusting my radio or something I don't remember exactly. Then all of the sudden I look to my left and I start getting hit in the face. I got hit around 3-5 times I can't remember. I sat there stunned not knowing what the fuck just happened and the guy backs up and goes around me at the light. Of course no fuckers stop and like...See if I'm okay. Well I wasn't too bad off at that point...Was hurting like a mofo but instinct kicked in so I grab cell phone and dialed 911 and started driving after the guy. As I knew nothing about him other then a brief description of his car. So I'm on the phone with 911 giving the information and following this other car. Go about 10 minutes and he cuts down some other roads till he goes down a dead end. I am not exactly the fighting type so I stay at the beginning of the road. Finally the cops show up and as I'm talking to him the asshole drives back by and the cops went after him. Another cop shows up 10 minutes later and tells me to follow him down the road as they have him pulled over. I tell them what happend and had to sit there for like 30 minutes while the cops went back and forth. I later find out there were 2 guys in the car and they were brothers. They wouldn't arrest the guy because they didn't see it happen but gave me all their information. Late last night I put out a warrent for his arrest. I was okay for about 45 min after it all happened until all the swelling began and my head started killing me really fucken bad. So mom brought me to the emergency room where they did a bunch of fucken x rays and finally drugged me up after 3 hours in pain.

The fucked up thing is when I put a warrent out for his arrest. The magistrate told me he could put a warrent out for my arrest as well. Even tho he had no scratches on him. He said since he had a "witness" even tho its his brother that he could have a stronger case then me. Fucken fucked up legal system. The other guy told the cops I got out of my car and once I did that he got out of the car. I'm 6'2...he was from what the police said 5'7...For him to hit me while I was standing...He wouldn't have hit me in the eye. My car sits down low and from how I was hit its obvious I was sitting in my car. When I drive I leave my windows down...

So right now I'm on heavy medication and dealing with this legal fucken bullshit. Contacting a lawyer on monday to handle medical bills and whatnot.

Sorry to hear that. Some thing kinda like that happened to me.This huge woman got mad that I honked my horn at her, next thing I know she get out fo the car and walks my way, I put the windows up and lock the door so she is yelling and trying to open my door!The light turns and she is still yelling about how she is going to "kick my ass". I couldn't move she was in front of me!I thought she was going to rip my door open, her face was changing color and everything. I thought I would never say this but thank god for the cop that pulled up! She went to jail and I went to work! Road rage is a bitch!

Sad to hear Jon. Hope you feel better in a few days. I know from personal experience that it takes at least a few days for the head to get better. (Hubby had a go around with some punks, he won but was still beaten pretty severlly in the head).

If you can't go for criminal then first advertise (TV stations eat this up) look for witnesses and if all else fails, take it to Judge Judy. She seems to see thru these guys pretty well and maybe you can get some monies back.

Lotsa water and juice tho! Seems to help with head trauma.

Highways can be a dangerous place. I had some dude point a gun at me just cause I had blown my horn twice at him to move out of the lane he was driving to slow in. Luckily he backed down instantly when he saw a bigger barrel pointing right back at him.

But, you gotta be careful out there, a bunch of crazed people on the highways with real short fuses.

dam man hope you get some justice... freeking insane that people get that pissed off for no reason at all..

I duno where you guys all live but I have never had my self in a position I thought I needed a gun... I see people posting like the US is a mad gettho.. but I've lived here all my life and can say I've never felt the need to have to protect myself by the use of a gun... I've been in some pretty rough places.. my day job takes me into some real "nice" places sometimes but I tipically try to keep a low profile intill I'm out of the area...

But then agin shit can happen at any time..like the above ... but if you did fuck with him a little , you did egg it on a bit.. not saying you deserved it, but maybe next time if an ass hole cuts you off just let him go... it's not worth it...just think if he would of had a gun.. I'll admit myself I've given the finger and fucked with assholes on the road myself.. but now days it's just not worth it... I just let them go..

All my friends in NY keep at least 1 bat in their trunk. I know some people who carry other shit besides a bat as well, like a golf club, etc.

Lesson 1: Always.... repeat ALWAYS be on your guard. Keep an eye on your rear-view mirrors in a situation like that, at <i>any</i> stop light for that matter. Be aware of what is going on around you, be alert to who may be approaching your car.

My former kick-boxing instructor was like that.... almost bordering on the paranoid in my opinion, but I learned some valuable lessons from him about how staying alert can save your ass. Something as little as when a stranger walks past you, you don't know if they are going to turn around and club you in the head. Chances are they won't, but you don't know that, so it is best to develop a constant sense of awareness and the ability to defend should it ever happen.

I never had an "instructor" (well, briefly when I was younger) but I've learned a lot of lessons. To this day, it makes me nervous to sit with my back to human traffic. I like to be facing where people are coming from. I also don't like to sit with my back to a window even though I've never been shot at through a window or anything.

I've had quite a few traffic altercations. On at least a few occasions, I was the person to get out of the car and head for the other guy. I would never, ever have taken my eyes off my mirrors after having trouble with someone in another car.

I hope you heal well, Jon. Never let your guard down, man. It's better to learn that lesson now than to learn it when the asshole in the other car gets you with a gun instead of his fists.

We always have some kind of tool or something of the like in the back on the floor, because driving in TO or even sometimes up here there's fucking nutcases... and we have kids in the car.. Protect the children first. I've heard road rage stories but that's nuts.. Hope you get better Jon, and carry a flashlight or something in the car from now on.. worst comes to worst, they're good to defend yourself with.

Remember your suffering from dizzyness blackouts and pain you need to be compensated for the thousands you didnt make this week on the account of your injuries. Fuck clean him out what sort of car did he have? Would it look better in your driveway?

something else to do... is if you ever notice most cops (or anyone with that type of training) don't pull directly up behind another car at red lights and stop signs... they tipically leave enough space to get out of there incase of something like this... and another thing... if you are blocked in... and someone trys this shit and you feel you are in danger... it is worth it to push the blocking car out of your way with your own car.. (ie whom ever it was that had the chick banging on her car door)

It's better off to get a traffic ticket than to get killed. You can explain the situation in court if needed but least you would be alive. IMO pulling a gun or a bat in this type of situation is a dubble edged sword... may get you out ok.. or it may carry things along farther. What if the other guy has a gun or a bat aswell... best thing is just to get away where you can control what is going on.
