Senator Says Spammers Have First-Amendment Rights

Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), while joining Rep. Gephardt (D-MO) in a discussion of how Democrats are the "guardians of the New Economy," noted that opt-out is better, because it gives companies their first ammendment right to contact you.

I hope no one confused who says what here

i'm gonna clear one thing, i don't get mad when i receive 1 single copy of advertisment, ot that I'm happy too, but it's ok and I receive some 100s/day. For sure I hate receiving the same mail all the time! Or seeing my mail on mailing lists where they state go there to unsubscribe, but you need some imaginative password etc etc and final you end up receiving their mails for the rest of your life.
