I remember when I used to cash checks at a cash checking place and they would always ask for the phone number of your employer so they could call your place of work and verify that you work there. Just wondering what you guys do when cashing webmaster checks, it's not like we know the phone number of ARS and Maxcash off the top of our heads! Has anyone ever had this problem when cashing checks at a cash checking place? I know if your depositing at your bank, it's easy, you just wait for the checks to clear, but anyone ever have someone ask you for the phone number of all your employers, and what do you say??

I know it's better to use a bank, but I'm saying what IF you had to cash all your checks on time at a check cashing place??? I remember a few years ago they would ask me for the phone number for my employer (non-adult). What if they ask me again?

I think they would call while I am waiting to verify that I am working there, to make sure it's a legit check. No one picks up my phone except me, so it would ring indefinitely. I don't want to give false info and risk going to jail. I would never give fake info. Besides they want the # of the places who are issuing the checks to be cashed I thinkOriginally posted by Mishi

I am just nervous a lot when cashing porn checks, I don't know why, I feel like I am committing a crime or something. It's personal . No I am not underage. I don't want to cash the checks at my bank because I bounced some checks and my bank
(BOA) will not cash those checks, they will use those checks to pay for all NSF (no sufficient fees) for all the bounced checks.
I would rather have the cash now, and pay of the deficit amount later because I need the cash now for something.Comment

Here's my answer for your problem.
I'm assuming if you ARE using a check cashing place for your checks it's because the sponsor you are using is offshore. If I'm not mistaken these check cashing places don't ask for your social security number, and since an offshore sponsor doesn't send a 1099 form to the IRS there is no easy way to trace the money.
If you are using a domestic sponsor, well I'm not sure why you'd use a check cashing place cause they do take quite a big fee for their services and the IRS would know how much you earned.
If you're a member of a bank you can just as easily cash the check with no fees.
Anyway here's what I would recomend. When you goto the check cashing place, explain you are a sub contractor for these companies. They will need to make sure the check is legit, so just tell them you will give the bank phone number since you are not sure what the sponsor's phone number is due to the fact that they are Internet based.
Anyway a few of my webmasters use those check cashing places to cash offshore sponsor checks.

I would suggest you get a business paypal account and use sponsors who use it that way you never have to cash a fucking check and can withdraw from an ATM or charge as a mastercard with it.

This is going to be my last response in this thread. Anyways, I just asked a question. What I need the money for is nobody's business, but since everyone is so nosy I will just tell them, it's for rent. Ofcourse I expect to be flamed for this again, "Why don't you have money saved, blah blah blah, get out of this business".
Of course I plan on paying back my bank back as soon as I can, my personal checking account gets debited automatically every month for my isp bills, health insurance, and some other stuff, so of course I will pay it asap because I pay my bills via checking account. I did not "exactly" bounce a check literally, some co's debited my accnts automatically and I didn't have enough have funds to cover it so the fees added up (which is just as bad, I know, and I take full responsibility). I would have never even TOLD anyone on this board, but I only did because some people were implying that I was underage because I didn't have a checking account. Anyways, I'm just having some financial problems last month, I'm sure everyone has a bad month sometimes , no big deal. Let it rest already. And yes, I'm getting a real-life job soon (as people will probably say I should, since I'm having problems) so everything will be fine.
I don't have a husband thank God, and I haven't lived with my parents for 7 years, I just had a bad month, that's all. Next month I will deposit all my checks as I usually do at the ATM as usual and there will be no problem.
